Where are the wires for my power mirrors?

Toyota just bought my '96 Tacoma for about half the price on my new 2010 basic access cab. It didn't take long to realize that I missed the intermittent wipers so thanks to all you folks on this forum I bought a used wiper switch and plugged it in and it played perfectly.

On to power mirrors. I pulled the plug where the switch would go and sure enough there is the plug. 10 bucks and shipping form ebay and I have a switch installed. Try and find a used OEM power mirror out there. No luck for a month so I bought 2 after market units guaranteed for as long as I own the truck.

I removed the door panels (again with forum advise) and no wire or plug for my shiny new power mirrors. The switch wiring disappears into a harness and wanders off into the jungle under the dash.

I need advise, wiring diagrams, someone looking for a deal on two new power mirrors. I sure would appreciate whatever advise all you experts out there might offer. Thanks, Phil

Thanks BlueT for the wiring diagram. The plug fit right into the switch that I bought. Comparing the wires in my plug to the wiring diagram I find the same number of wires but the color coding varies with about half the same as the diagram and the other half different.

I removed the kick panel on the driver's side and poked around but found no sign of anything encouraging.

The wiring diagram shows the switch wires for the LH mirror connecting to IC3 which the next page after the diagram indicates a connector joining a wire harness to a wire harness and to see page 54, which I can't find in the link you sent or in any google search.

My assumption is that somewhere behind the dash I could find two connectors waiting for the harnesses that go to each door.

If I could find a diagram for a 2010 or page 54 and 55 it might help solve the mystery.

    Thanks again,

    Phil

Here is what I have found for anyone trying this upgrade on a 2010 Tacoma.

The plug for the switch is ready to go. The purple blue, purple black, and brown white wires end up in a harness plug under the left kick panel. This plug is joined to the harness that goes into the driver's door but without the three wires from the switch. I clipped the three wires going into the plug from the switch and used a plastic weed whacker cord to fish three wires from the mirror to splice to the wires from the switch under the kick panel. The brown and white is common and you will know if you get the other two backwards but it won't hurt anything.

The right hand side is the same except the two wires besides the brown and white common are green red and green black.

Works like a charm. It took five times as long to figure it out as it did to make it work. Thanks for the diagrams and suggestions.

    Phil
