Not for the kids, for all the adults drinking, smoking, and "doing other things in the woods" after the kids go to bed.

    Uh, so I hear.

I had to do a lot of soul searching before I signed my son up. The local pack has strong parental involvement (including myself) and so far has proved to be worthy.

BSA has had girls in Explorer and Venture programs for decades. They're not at all new to coed programs despite what the media might want to lead folks to believe.

See above. Scouting isn't (and hasn't been) an all-male organization. In addition to the coed Venture & Explorer programs under the Scouting umbrella, there are also *lots* of female adult leaders in Boy Scouting. Who go on campouts. Who go to Jamborees. Some of whom probably participate in the sorts of shenanigans one might expect, even if those things aren't exactly sanctioned. :D

Yes, I take Snopes with a big grain of salt, but in this case it was the readily accessible source showing that Breitbart and others were on the wrong track with their story.

Yes, folks need to take a careful look at the various packs and troops available. They each have different "personalities" in terms of the types and frequency of activities they do. Find what best matches you and your son's interests. Some might do a lot of drop-camping, other might do road-trip activities, others might do a lot of backpacking, etc. See what fits, and don't be afraid to change if you need to.

They key thing though is parental involvement. As an Eagle scout, I readily admit that it wouldn't have happened if it weren't for my father's involvement . I was heavily involved when my son went through cub and boy scouting. It was clear that the boys who had at least one involved parent were far more likely to stick with the program and make it to Eagle.

I've found that packs are only as good as the people involved in it. Get a lot of good folks, and you get a good pack.

    They're in Canada.

    They were saying...

    "I'm so sorry"

"No, please, no apology necessary as it was obviously my fault. I'm sorry"

    "No, no, no, I'm sorry"

    "No, I'm sorry"

"Perhaps we were both mutually in the wrong and should each share an apology"

Why would the driver of a Nissan Altima race another vehicle? Why would the driver of another vehicle race a Nissan Altima?

The Altima wasn't designed to be the pinnacle of speed.

Valid point, however an Altima 3.5 has some potential.

    I wouldn't own one, I prefer BMW sedan's.

A smart man knows to stay out of a cat fight. Just sit back and film it from a place of safely.

In my experience, the last thing you ever want to give two wildcats (either two- or four-legged) is a new target. The only thing worse than them being enemies is them being allies.

Ask any LEO who's been called out to a domestic disturbance and he or she will echo this.
