Pardon my ignorance. How do you take the yellow inserts off in order to apply grease? Can it be done without loosening anything else?

I put 2 1/4 teflon leaf liners between each of the leaves and have zero problems. Personally I would take out the little pads and just run full length liners.

No worries mate. Read the ARB TSB that Rocco taco posted. No removal of pads, just spectate the leafs and squirt in between. It's super easy.

I got mine from Detroit Spring but later found much better prices elsewhere. Google teflon leaf spring lines. The 2 1/4 is the size I used. Speedway.com had some good prices.

Don’t need liner follow ARB guideline and apply grease with needle fitting, will work just fine

im having issues with mine, but its not a squeak, i have a HORRIBLE rattle sound non stop when driving. every little bump or imperfection on the road surface cause this rattle noise. sounds like i have a million sockets just rolling around loose in the bed. cant for the life of me find any posts online about it or pinpoint exactly where its coming from. any ideas?

Narrowed it down to the leaf pack? You checked bushings and all bolts torqued? Body mounts?

Jacked up the truck yesterday and let the suspension droop. shoved a big screwdriver between the leafs and greased those little yellow pads with my grease gun and a needle fitting. Blissful silence ensued. :)

Same here, except I accidentally broke the needle tip when my pry bar slipped out and I wasn't paying attention.
    What grease did you use?

I used this stuff here its what I had laying around the garage. Figure if it washes out or fails to perform as id like then I can start looking to the fancier greases.

I was so close to removing the Dakars due to the severe squeaking. I had tried WD-40, fluid film, pressure washing, numerous varieties of oils and greases with relief only lasting a few days at best. I live and work in an area that has numerous dirt roads, so a combination of mud and dust has collected on the springs over the past year since installing. I have never greased the isolators/bushing/spacers. I separated the springs with a prybar and removed the spacers. The star shaped pattern on all of them was caked full of dirt that needed scraped and brushed to remove. I do believe this has been the problem. Packed full of lithium grease and fingers crossed. Time will tell. looks like it was designed to stick a needle tip from the grease gun right in that hole on the bottom and pump... no need to pry the leafs apart?? anyone tried this?

You are correct. Mine were gummed up so bad I had to disassemble and clean the spacers. The grooves on the spacers should fill with grease if used with a needle point. Again, mine were in need of a thorough cleaning.

    Yeah I was.

Yep, they're on Amazon. Another guy here on the forum confirmed that the same SP59-060 fits the fixed end and the top part of the shackle where the leaf springs goes through, so you guys can buy 2 pairs for 1 truck to make each end greasable.

Yeah, those leaf liners in those Dakar packs need grease, plus they were missing some pad locations in the first ~12+ years that they were selling them, creating ungodly sounds. Just a terrible design and oversight from their engineer.

How long have you had them in for? Whats different from the ones that come with the leaf pack, and are they greasable?

I mix up a batch of my custom poly bushing and spring pad grease: half antiseize and half caliper lube (silicon based grease and noce and tacky). Works for me. Its funny in my previous tacoma i had the old style Dakar leaf packs and they went through hell and back, working in the dust and ice of remote mine sites. Never once squeaked and never once maintained like washed or greased..
