No thanks! I went to Las Vegas in May and I thought I was going to die. I like Hawaii, never too hot, never too cold.

I agree. Also you can use 25% - 30% coupon on top of already affordable price which is less than half of optima.

I had to reroute the positive cable out the front of the junction box, the negative cable was long enough as is.

I think you guys have sold me and that's what I'll be getting when my stock battery starts to get sluggish.

I bought a 2007 FJ and put an Odyssey battery in it. I sold the FJ about 4 months ago... same battery still in it. I will definitely go with Odyssey in the Tacoma.

Edit: I forgot to mention, I replaced the battery in the FJ with the Odyssey within the first 6 months of buying it.

I personally have never owned/purchased an Odyssey battery, but when I was active on the Dodge Cummins "Turbo Diesel Register" web forum for 10+ years, Odyssey was the most recommended battery. I actually got 11 years out of my OEM no-name brand batteries in that truck, which I bought new in 2000. When they finally died, I replaced with Interstate.

I also got 10 years out of my OEM battery in my Harley Sportster. I've had very good luck with batteries :D

You will love that thing, the one in my car has been thru age, temperature extremes, being totally run down and recharged, lengthy times between starts and it just keeps going and going.

+1 for the Odyssey. My OEM battery failed at just under two years and 27k miles. I changed jobs last year, making my commute 65 miles round trip so I bought a cheap commuter car (05 Acura TL 6MT) and my Taco sits in the garage most of the week now.

Random no start a few days ago even though I keep it on a tender when not being driven. Got Toyota to warranty the battery, but the service advisor said many factory batteries are failing within 1.5-2 years (I'm in Texas, so part of that could be attributed to the heat). Even the Lyft driver who took me back to the dealership to pick up my truck had the battery in his 17 Camry die within a year of purchase. So I put the new warranty True Start in my girlfriend's Highlander and got myself the Odyssey based on all the praise on this forum along with the fact that I got it for $60 cheaper than the Optima Yellow Top from a local 4 Wheel Parts store.

I could hear the difference in the strength of the starter motor immediately. As mentioned in a previous post, if you decide to go this route, you'll probably want the optional height adapter that snaps on to the bottom of the battery so it can be used with the OEM tie down. I had to improvise while I wait for it to be delivered.

Almost all car batteries are made by the same companies, Johnson Controls, Exide etc.

Optima is shit. I’ll never run one again. It never lasts longer than a year or two and on the 3rd warranty replacement I said forget it.

Only battery I trust is East Penn Deka batteries.
