There were definitely some interesting "roads" down there I looped around one and got the truck in about as sketchy as a road as I would want to without skids and another truck. Only reason I went down it was there was a local who said "yea you can get down that... but when you hit the next intersection DEFINITELY go left... NOT STRAIGHT". I ran into a number of other class 4 roads too, but didnt really have the time to explore them as I had alot of miles to cover... also many of them were leading into the forest and I happened to find a nice locked gate where I expected to come out... so I guess for the better.

Got a little worried when I got home and saw this. Supposed to be 4 tires. Check shipping notifications and 2 went from Worcester to Pittsfield instead of South Deerfield where our truck comes from. $109.50 a piece this week thru discount tire direct with their rebate. Tried using another rebate that’s out right now but don’t know if it will work. Don’t even need tires yet but jumped on the deal

Picked up my lift kit from UPS today. @HeadStrong Off-Road delivered a great kit. This was the first time I have done any suspension work on a vehicle. The plan was for a friend to help me this weekend but I was so impatient I went ahead and started it today. I got the front and rear shocks in. Definitely a good choice by me to have them assemble the struts. I'm a bolt-on kind of guy. The rears were a PITA. The top nut you have to hold on the OEM shock is awful. I had to tear one of the rubber washers out from underneath the nut so I could fit a vice grip on the threads. Ran out of daylight so I couldn't install the 3 AAL. Maybe tomorrow or Saturday I'll finish but I definitely have the bro-lean. I took measurements of before an will take them once I'm done. And definitely need an alignment. Had to drop the LCAs to get the struts in.

Made it to TX safe and sound.

Got a van for a rental because there are 6 of us. Had a choice between a dodge something and a Toyota Sienna. Pretty obvious choice if you ask me. The Sienna drives nice! Might change my mind for if and when we finally replace the wife's car... :crapstorm:

Been MIA a lot lately. Overseas and then weekly travel to the Westcoast to support a new project. I have only been home for 3 days in the last 5-6 weeks.

Slowly ordering goods for the camping trip... On a side note I joined the dark side and have been rocking this for the last week.

    Morning all!

Well, I better get to it on the color matching of the cap. You can't have your wife driving around with a mis-matched cap! :D

Morning everyone! Got a call from Mobtown yesterday asking if I had gotten my skids yet, I told them no but I knew they take at least 3 months for stuff so I wasn't worried. Guy said they should have been delivered a month ago but something messed up my order on their website. Should be here in about two weeks as they had them all in stock but had to p-coat the transfer skid.

Going to my parents soon to set up a volleyball net, coolers and some tables for the memorial day party later this weekend. Anyone else do some yearly parties? Ours has really slowed down with my generation aging and having kids and stuff. Still get some good softball, volleyball and grilling in!:bananadance:

Awesome! I had to cut the rears out of mine. The top nut was rusted on real good. No amount of PB Blaster was going to help so 10 minutes with a hack saw and done!

Same I also cut my OE rear shocks off. Much easier and who wants used OE shocks..

The bilsteins are much easier to tighten/ loosen. At least on my FJ and the ones I had on my first gen since they have a nut welded to the top of the shaft before the shank.

Morning. Decided yesterday to do a half day today. Talked to my boss to see if he cared and his response was 'I'm out tomorrow. I don't care what you do.' Sooo, only a few hours til quitting time for me.

The geography here is weird. I'm on the VT border, but the quickest way to Bennington involves going south first and driving through MA for 20 minutes, then back north. That's because the road that used to cut over hasn't been used in decades.

I tried to take it once because I was told it "isn't that bad". Got about halfway in thinking it was basically an unmaintained dirt road. Few big dips, some mud, and some exposed rocks, but nothing bad--pretty much the type of road that'd be a blast to fly through with an old Subaru. Then I hit the spot where it narrows to something that looks like it'd be appropriate for an ATV and it was clear that was the turn around spot for everyone.

Yeah, I have a bunch of shit I need to get done.

Over the last week or so bunch of stuff I've ordered to build up a home gym has been delivered and the last piece should be delivered this morning. So I basically am building it in my garage in my mind now and figuring out where I want to put it all haha
