    Monterrey Aquarium is popular.
Lots of wineries so wine wasting is an option.
    Uber expensive golfing
    Whale watching
    Good Mexican food
I'd stay in Watsonville before I stayed in Salinas
Watch out for trucking on 101, huge speed difference between lanes 1/2 around there.

Happy belated JQ, all's well that ends well.

Anywhere near the SF Bay Area (60 miles ish) is going to be inflated for housing. But get outside of that and it isn’t bad. Still high compared to the Midwest but not unreasonably so.

Got a little wet. Apparently the block and trans were from a hydro locked motor.

Not enough to have a build thread.
May want to check the radiator. Sometimes the tranny cooler blows through and coolant and trans fluid mix.

He had it all apart and just used the trans from that old block. The rest is his previous radiator and whatnot.

San Jose looks promising. Seems like a lot of work and rent houses there :spy:

Yes, but expensive as hell...unless you move in to east side or some other bad neighborhood

San Jose = $1Mil buys a starter home, built in the 1950s with minor updating.

The whole bay area is going down hill...even my old shitty town of Newark has become expensive. My cousin bought a house there in 2004 for $450K and now same house is going for 1.1 mil :(

Nice if you already own, not so nice if you want to. People seem to love bashing but keep trying to move here. Gonna call bs on the notion of negative growth. People keep fucking with the usual consequence.

As others said, don’t stay in Salinas. It’s a bit of a drive away and not very nice at all. Look in Sand City and Marina or Seaside if you have to. Also sometimes flights directly into Monterey isn’t that much more expensive and save a rental car cost (Uber/cab). Santa Cruz is a fun town as well and about 35 min from Monterey if you have a car. Tons of breweries and places to eat. Also the Boardwalk if you want to check out a mini amusement park on the water
