True. It is hard to buy house in the bay area right now. I don't think bay has negative growth, if that was the case it wouldn't take me 2 hours to go 20 miles...just saying

Dont let that poor fella stay in salinas lol

The bay area housing market is insane right now. My job is directly related to the real estate industry, i can talk shit from a professional standpoint. Stay away lol

Do you have the inside scoop if it is going to come down anytime soon? Asking for a friend who wants to buy a house :anonymous:

Lol no not at all. Inventory is low, prices are high, its a total sellers market now.

Luckily its starting to stabilize, so youre not going into a bidding wars as much as say, 2 years ago. But its still crazy out there. Based on what the brokers and agents are saying "its not going down anytime soon, even if it starts to mellow out"

I trust them about as far as i can throw them, so take that with a grain of salt lol

Disclaimer: i am not economist, just a peasant roof inspector, so dont take my shit talking as financial advice

    Rent for a 2 + 1 are around 3 grand a month. If you're looking at a studio, expect $2300/month and north.

The MEDIAN income is probably right around $160k for the top two or three employers and that drives a lot of the cost of living here.

Can anyone suggest a shop ect or even better have a welder in reasonable distance from San Mateo? My shock mount broke and it's a 5 min deal.

I am a good welder, just living on the road currently.

Please shoot me a message, reimbursement will be up to par.

If she's attending the Defense Language School can't she get you a room on base?
Also, I second the Seaside/Marina area. Might be able to find a cheap motel/hotel in Prunedale. It's not far, and you could probably find a cheap rental car.

Thanks y'all. Advice is much appreciated. I'll reevaluate the game plan.

This, they should have accommodations on base. My buddy was going to be coming out for language school and they were going to rent an apartment on base. The base should have something available. Have your girl check into it.

Presidio of Monterey if what you're looking for, looks like it's around $80 a night?

Also make sure you've got everything in check to get on post.

I'm sure there's other options out there, but this was off a quick Google search.
