Switch Pros 9100 install and BS thread

For mine, I just took apart the wire harness.


Then I just hooked up the purple to switch 3 and ground to the body, seems to work great. I was told that the dual compressor has the relay and pressure switch built in and it’s only 15amp draw, so I just hooked it up to the 20amp switches.

Got my Switch Pros 9100 wired up, yesterday. Wasn't to difficult. Hardest part was finding the right fuses to tap into. I initially used an TAF_Taco's example, but it wasn't allowing the truck to start. It would just turn over for ever without any ignition. Then I I tried the setup like KTJO 4X4 on the 2nd page and that worked perfectly. No warning lights on the dash, all my stock electronics work normally. Eventually I will move the control panel to above the center console, above the sunroof controls, but this was an easy placement for the time being. I already miss having the little cubby. This weekend I will start rewiring my light bar to the Switch Pros, install the anytime front/rear camera wiring, and hopefully install my bed rail LEDs. For now, it's just a blank canvas.


The actual wiring install turned out pretty good, in my book. I don't have much in the way of experience in this stuff, but I was able to get it pretty "clean" I think. I'd still like to hide the trigger and ignition wires a little better. I was able to mount the SP power block to the side of the engine bay by drilling two holes in the wall and bolting it there. I'd have preferred a fancy mounting plate, but this works just fine.

$338 CKMA12 On-Board Air Compressor High Performance 12 Volt for Air Locker Differentials and Tire Inflation

CKMA12 needs the pressure switch and relay to be used while the dual CKMAT12 has it built in as you stated. I kept my harness in tact and used the SP ARB harness kit to keep it plug and play. Basically it does the same thing and connects the purple wire to the switch.

 

All the bits are finally coming together!

 

Thanks! They are heat shrink tube labels. They work just like regular labels (with a regular label maker) except it prints on a tube instead of sticker.

 

Ahh, gotcha. I have a label maker so I'll take a look. That might make it easy. Do you know what size you used and did it slide over the ring terminal or did you have to put them on before you put the ring terminals on?

 

Looks great. Numbering the wires was a great idea. What are you planning for the fuse block?

I have a few constant power items that I'm going to be connecting to the fuse block, but it's also a little future-proofing.
