To me, the sound deadening cleans it up and makes it look like a less complete mod. My brother-in-law worked for a company that cleaned out cars from ANY type of interior damage. Yes. Anything you are thinking right now, the worst imaginable things, his company did that.

He had a lot of sound deadening left over from previous jobs and gave me some for free. OCD + FREE wins every single time!

Noico on Amazon! Cheep and works amazing. Take time to do this step takes 2 hours and do back seat floor also so the exhaust is quieter. You will be happy with results for such a small investment

    Lots of fun stuff
Thanks guys for the advice... I'd have never considered the sound proofing otherwise. Can't wait to post pictures during my install.

    Installed today!

Waiting for standoffs to arrive to finish up the cross member support and move it off of the child safety seat attachment loops.

Had to attach a molle pack to it anyway.

The slots for the mid cross member are off just a bit. Just by the width of the slot. The standoffs that I've ordered are rubber shock mounts that are an inch high. Combined with 3/4" rubber shock mounts for the top that should literally give me some wiggle room to get everything secure w/o having to drill holes. If it works out as planned I'll post the parts list from McMaster Carr.

This is the problem only seen in access cabs where some line up great and some don’t. It’s been difficult to figure out why.

My original idea was to find a slotted offset bracket. Something that I could slide up and down and high enough to get it off the attachment loops.

Something like below except more of a "Z" shape. 2 slots instead of 4 where the slots overlap at least the diameter of the M6 bolt.

To keep the rack from rubbing the attachment loops the height has to be greater than 1 1/8". Included in the standoff order are plastic fender washers to make adjustments. We'll see how it goes.

Rubber standoffs worked like a charm and allows me to us a little pressure to align everything up. Knurled thumb screws allows me to remove the rack whenever I need to.

Electrical tape holds the plastic washers in place.
