Lisa, what about the area northeast of Wilsall. The Shields River drainage. Have you been out that way this time of year or this year?

Huh. That's interesting. I've never been out that way either. Always south of I90. That area caught my eye because most of it looks to be below 7,000'.

As Monte mentioned, looking to do some camping over memorial day weekend.

When is the best time of the year to do Beartooth Hwy? The BT mountains looked awesome driving back from Billing yesterday. The Burger Dive met my high expectations.

highway isn't even open haha still plowing. Supposed to be open on memorial day..idk if they will get it done or not. It snowed last weekend again and is supposed to again.

    That said.

August is prime time in the summer up there..if there aren't any fires.

But really June is great too and usually not the tourist traffic around then. I like doing it in the fall too, but i live right by it haha

you should do it. Its amazing and the area is awesome. Krandal is beautiful too

Thanks Monte. When not working at home in Bozeman, I am working in Big Sky or near Wade Lake, so the Beartooths should be great getaway.

yeah they are sweet. Though mostly shut in wilderness so hope you like to hike! Even just doing a couple miles into them is extremely rewarding.

Anyone familiar with any camping sites near Basin, MT? (the town near Boulder... not the Basin Campground near Red Lodge).

Options for wheelin just expanded. I know a quad trail or two in the Niehart area and have access to some quads. We should get together and hit the trails...
