Lemme ask you a few questions and I'll tell you what you have. Do you have a power outlet in your bed?

I don't need it, but for the price it runs my emergency lighting very well. I do lots of volunteer events and provide support and gear. I need to be sufficiently lighted, and I am. It's all controlled through the CenCom.

Was also a fun project.

According to cars.com, I have a pre-runner. ( V6 4X2 Double Cab, short bed, 5spd auto w/OD)
A base model is- V6 4X4 Double Cab, short bed, 6spd, manual w/OD

 

Pre runner just means 2wd but on the 4wd frame. On top of being a prerunner, you could be a base, SR5, or TRD offroad/sport

 

Google the vin, it will tell you how it came from the factory.

Thanks! I've only had it for about a week, so I'll have to get back to you on how well it holds up. Installation is very easy. The bug guards comes with six 2-piece plastic screws that utilize existing holes under the truck's hood (if you have a 2005-2011; It ight differ for newer 2nd Gens).

 

Thank you, that's what I had read, 2wd on 4wd frame!
I had contacted my local dealer and they said it was a base model, but the lift I have is factory. (They performed the leaf spring swap with no issue.)
I do not have the power outlet in the bed.

And vin-db.com also states it is a "PreRunner Double Cab V6 Automatic 2WD, Crew Cab Pickup"

If you are referring to my avatar, that was due to natural bleaching from the Hawaiian sun!!
I have since had it painted, I did all of the exterior plastic myself. I guess I should update that avatar huh?

It was my son's truck, he was stationed in HI and had it shipped home to PA before he went to his next duty station in Europe. I drove it while we visited him there, in HI, and fell in love with the truck. I started looking for one when it was time to replace my 02' Grand Prix. After finding nothing but s**t boxes or over priced Tacomas, I was ready to give up, when my wife suggested I ask my son to buy his. He was making payments on a truck he would not be able to drive while he was at his duty station, the rest is history....

 

I hear ya on the overpriced s**tboxes. In November 2017, I saw an '02 regular cab 4x4 stick shift at a dealer, with 104K miles, some body rust, and NO AIR-CONDITIONING! They wanted $7,000 for it!

 

Got my hood struts installed. Could have used a friend but one guy can do it.
