Damn man I was on the edge of my seat reading through this thread. You said you’re picking up your truck Friday - did you get it fixed through your insurance, or what’s the case with that?

Picked it up yesterday. Cost was $4500ish. My deductible was $2000, I know I know! But got $500 off with a “coupon” and the insurance co. Just sent me a check for $1034 for diminished value so I’m about $470 out of pocket right now. Just gave the insurance the police report which states I was not at fault so we’ll wait and see.

Soooo happy to have my truck back!! Off up to Tray Mountain again this weekend!

Is your insurance going to to after the trucking company to get them to pay for it?

Make them pay for your time tracking the idiot down... You should end up $0 out of pocket and have $ back for diminished value. You should also not have your rates increase or have an at fault accident in your insurance record. Keep on YOUR insurance and make sure they make it right.

No but what sucks is depending on amount of damage, it might get reported by insurance or the other party through DMV forms the involved parties including the victim might fill out, which might find its way to Carfax. Here in CA you have to fill out an SR1 form for damage over $750 or $1,000 dont remember...if it’s not my fault, I don’t submit it and typically warn the other party to do the same because it ultimately affects them too...

Since it went through insurance and it got fixed at a reputable shop (I would assume), it will end up on a carfax report most likely anyway. Even if he wasn't at fault. That is why he is getting $ for diminished value. My point was that insurance companies must have a way of tracking at fault accidents kind of like a credit report. That was the hint.that I got from my insurance company when I got rear ended a couple months ago.

New York Times best seller list in non fiction. Two thumbs and two big toes up.
    Now my review.
Started off really slow like atlas shrugged, then out of nowhere it took off like a bat out of hell. Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time with the many twist and turns. And for the conclusion it’s always nice to see nice guys finish first.

Chevy Chase could be fun, but we're talking two different movies.
