Owned this snowblower for ten winters now. Bought it used on Craigslist. Still on original tracks and works just fine. Steers nicely. Love the traction of the tracks. But a snowblower equipped with chains likely will beat this one traction-wise.

Lawnmower maintenance: Pulling the three blades and found a fcking crack in one of the belts. Upon closer inspection found a big chunk of rubber missing on another belt. My guess is a rodent chewed that one up.

Goddamn- all I wanted to do was sharpen the blades. Now I gotta go buy belts.

I’m such a visual person and I got lots of pics I’ll flood my build with. I’ll just drop a couple here. Just finished the chainsaw spare mount, or anything spare mount.. Came out good, so good I decided to get it powder coated over spray painting it. I did wanna do this out of aluminum but not setup for it yet, in steel it weighs 5.3lbs

Very cool. How will you attach it to the tire? Ratchet strap?

Cool part that I didn’t plan is if you look at the top pic in the previous post, the one leg is on the trasharoo tension strap. I’ve never used them from the several I’ve had till not to long ago as a why not. I found a second one and plan to put it under the other leg of the mount.. There will be compression cushion and zero contact to the tire with this mount ratcheted down.

Thanx, means a lot from a trailer fabricator

Building as I go. The top plate holes were 1/2 the amount as anchor points, than drilled out the 1/4” sides to trim a little weight, than drilled out more of the top plate. Gonna look great after powder coat. That stuff makes everything look amazing.

Tomorrow’s project. I’m going to turn the XJ bumper into a Winch bumper.

The middle of the bumper is already reinforced for the 2”receiver. I’ll add more 3/16” plate to reinforce it at least the width of the Winch plate.

Then weld the plate to the top of the bumper like so. With gussets on both ends, and another between the 2” receiver and the Winch plate.

After @El Dahs had to turn around on a black trail to Winch Karen last weekend, her “I don’t need a Winch. I don’t get stuck” attitude ceased to be valid...

    Yep.
So who has some glass knowledge?

Are these windoor glass panels able to be saved with the heavy pitting? I've never come across pitting like this in glass, it's crazy. Spent hours researching last night, can't find shit on the interwebs except scratch repair or pitting in ancient stained glass.

Kind of thinking they're fucked and my only option is to strip, paint and reinstall the aluminum panels which sucks. Not trying to spend $400 (cap was $500) on new side glass though.

Maybe do a surface refinish, polish it and run with whatever is left? Not sure if slapping tint on the inside would make it look worse or actually help :notsure:
