Toyos FTW. They’ll out last all other MTs and balance so much easier.

 

Toyos and Nittos are pretty much the same tire though.

 

Toyos. Sorry to sound like I’m against lee on this but don’t buy swamper if you drive on the road. @allenfab said he hates driving his on the road if I remember correctly. Believe he is going to change tires soon because of it.

The Trxus tires are radials, Tim. They ride smooth as silk. It's the bias plys that ride like shit on the road.

Plus, I'll say as for me, my LTBs are the worst riding Swamper on the road I've ever owned. Even my 16x35 Boggers on my YJ rode better.

 

Todd talked me out of going with the new sx2s. Then I was going to get maxxis treps but at 608 each I’ll pass and go with toyo at 406 each

Those are the Wildpeaks. Again the non LT tire (obviously the LT are more aggressive) but these are rated for 55k miles. They ride great and I really like how they handle the wet roads! I don’t have experience with the tires others are suggesting but I love these so far.

Honestly, it depends on how serious you want to get with the out of state wheeling trips and such. The LTBs ride like shit, but my 16x35 Boggers rode pretty decent though they did tend to road wander a bit because of the width. I had a set of 31x13s SXx on my Ranger and YJ and they rode great after they warmed up and got round again. I had a set of 38x12.50 regular TSLs on my F150 and they rode pretty good too. Not every Swamper/Interco tire can be judged by a different style. Some just ride better than others.

But anyway, my original point was, bias ply tires are a lot more durable offroad than radials. If you're going to use your truck as seriously as it's going to be built, you'll at least want to get a good set of bias plys for wheeling.

I'm just gonna say this. I liked the Toyo AT2s I had on the T4R. I am liking the Nitto Trail Graps I got from John even more simply because they look cooler. If I had to buy a new set of tires for the T4R and cost was no object, I would hands down get a set of Trxus MTs, because of how well they age. But if cost was a concern, I'd put a set of Toyo AT2s back on her, even though I like the Nitto Trail Graps better. I'm hoping when it comes time that I need to replace the Trail Graps, someone is selling a decent set of take-offs like the Toyos and Nittos I've lucked into before though. We don't put much mileage on our vehicles being retared, so take-offs a couple years old with 50% tread or so will last us a while.

As far as the OGT, the next set of tires I put on her will be TSL SXs. I'd go with SX2s but they are all too damn narrow.
