What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

My guess is the ac clutch.

 

Pressed the hub out no problem, but snap ring was stuck so I tapped it with a hammer and the lip broke off. Lame. Dremel cut 1/3 to weaken, then pryed out. Off to Toyota for another.

 

Not just today but over the past week I replaced the UCAs with Light Racing. New oem lower balljoints, Whiteline lower control arm bushings and new oem cam bolts and hardware. New left side front wheel bearing and seals.

Hardest part was getting the damn lower control arm hardware out. Holy seized and shitty, Batman.

All back together just now and ready for an alignment.

I did everything except press the new bearing in/out. My press wasn’t large enough to hold the hub so I took it to a shop. 1 hr labour is all they charged so no big deal.

 

All painted up. Installing tommorrow hopefully. If it wasnt for a covered porch this wouldnt happen until next weekend as its been thunderstormimg all day today.
Edit: I now have to pressure wash said covered porch due to some overspray. Guess my tarp wasnt big enough.

 

Well. Today’s the day I’m gonna try and tackle the boost and AFR gauge install. This wiring is gonna be a bitch. Anyone who’s done it, I’ll probably have questions if you can answer lol

AEM. I’m mostly concerned with how to actually get power to them.

 

I used a fuse tap for the gauges themselves since they need key on power and the computer for the AFR computer unit needs it's own power run, probably gonna have to come from the battery with a key on trigger

 

AFR computer unit... hmm..

 

Is your gauge an all in one, might help if you have a part number or model

nearly died from sickness(not really but felt like it) the last 3 days.

how often do you have to add more meth to your kit? Just wondering in case I have to when I SC the 3.4

 

Mine leaks so I’m not a good gauge, but a gallon and a half usually lasts me like 500 miles

 

Jealous, my trip was cancelled so it is a maintenance and mod weekend now. Get caught up on stuff I guess.

 

me and my brother just got done talking we are going to build my truck a reap plate bumper w/ dual swinouts and rock sliders.

 

And multiple recovery points with built in tow hitch and hidden winch? Lol

 

minus the winch lol but why not. i dont do much towing but i guess it wouldnt hurt to be prepared when i got to pull someone to town
