Such a time saver. I actually used a corded drill since it's cheaper to replace if I burned up the motor. Just keep it at low rpm. Did mine in 10 to 15 mins. Also make sure you put a big towel down as I learned from @loginfailed or you will have shavings everywhere!20180126_221701.jpg

Yeah I wish I had a cheaper gun. I was using an $800 impact gun. Definitely had to take a lot of breaks to let it cool down. I was gonna try my drill but didn’t have the right adapter.

I did mine with the blower on the truck. I should of waited till I pulled it. It would of made it a lot easier.

No a problem with a smaller drill. I did mine while installed.
Gotta use what you have though right?
Also you can flip the bit over and when both sides are full can re-sharpen if your careful.

I've got a 1/2 hp Milwaukee drill. Low speed too. That drill on high can crank start a kenworth. I'll just be careful.

Will I need to shave the tensioner stop with a 2.5 pulley and a 69.5 belt?

You will want the 69.5 belt. That will put you back to almost stock belt tensioner position.
Trimming the tensioner stop just allows you to release the tensioner more to make the shorter belt easier to install. It also allows for movement of you have my belt tensioner mod as that will also take up a little bit of effective belt length.

With the qwikchange pulley hub adapter it is not a time sensitive thing. Just apply some nice anti seize or equal grease to the shaft and some to the hub itself and get to pressing.

For whatever reason those URD pullies also have some QA issues, which is why they make sure you heat it up to allow it to expand before you put it on and press it in.

A shoddy solution to pressing it on if you ask me.

Thats pretty much an industry standard for things that that are only held on by friction. I would be much more upset if mine came off while driving.

So I’m running dtlt headers. Stock y pipe and a magnaflow muffler welded in place of stock muffler. I’m planning on getting urd y pipe. So I welded a 23” cherry bomb resonator in before my muffler. I had 2 sitting at my dads for years. Man it is quiet now. Doesn’t even make noise cruising on the highway. And has a very nice rumble and sound when you get on it. Super charger is mostly what u can hear now which is great. Glad I did it. And now I can get the y pipe and hot worry about it being stupid loud.

I guess it is a norm when pressing in two different metals to fit together than? The shaft is steel and the pulley they sell is billet aluminum or something supposedly.

The qwikchange hub must be made of steel or just be better machined or something because I remember URD told me once upon a moon that they had the pullies cut and when they would they would make sure it was the right size by running a large custom sized drill bit through it.

    Nice X-Runner bro!

The red anodized pulley from URD is aluminum however the stealth pulleys from URD are steel.

Are you are sure about that?

We have to test the theory out. Anyone who has a URD stealth pulley should put a magnet to it. If it attracts it we'll know it's steel if it doesn't, Aluminum.

True story. URD's colored pulleys are aluminum and stealth are ferrous steel. This is fact.

It is entirely possible then that the qwickchange pulley adapter hub is billet aluminum then and maybe it is easier to press it in since the shaft is metal and the difference between the two allows for an easier press in then.

    Interesting stuff.

Hope this is an acceptable question for this thread. Does anyone know the codes that are thrown for deleting cats?
