    Not sure where they're at.

A solid, honest update would go a long way in here. The last email blast stated their team would be busy building campers while they were away at expo, but that didn't seem like the case. :notsure:

I get where you're coming from, but surely you understand my frustration?

Even if they're working 12-14 hour days they should be able to spend a few minutes and give us an update. How many of us are out $5k, especially after they said they wouldn't take full payment months before delivery, and don't have a reasonable timeline for completion.

I do see they're out delivering - one camper per trip down my way. I sure hope when mine's ready I get the 'White Glove' treatment and not have to wait...

I really do wish these guys success, but for the sake of their business they really should evaluate their communication as of late.

Call me impatient, or tell me to wait, I'm just asking for what I would expect from a business while my 2nd estimated time-frame drifts by.

Have said before for other vendors, but you can’t dismiss communication duties for sake of building duties, or vice versa. Hire builders or hire people to answer phones, send emails, or update customers. If you’re going to do it all yourself, part of doing it all is.. well, doing it all.

All have to be done, no excuse for lack of anything. That is how the concept of business works and operates. 8 hr days or 14 hr days, both definitely leave 5 minutes every few hours to keep paid customers in the loop.

Not to be a jerk, but you sound like a broken record. Every post you make is they are working hard and it's an awesome product. If I am understanding correctly you aren't even part of the company? From a outsiders standpoint if I put down $5k on a camper I would have expected
    1. To get my camper to me on some kind of timeframe.
    2. At least been kept in the loop on what the heck is going on.
I guess that's too much to expect these days.

Also how much does quality suffer when the fabricators are working 12-14 hours a day?

Think it is the age of the internet, most want an immediate response, and everything done yesterday. My wife has to deal with that with her students, they'll email in the middle of the night and expect a response. "Why didn't you answer my email!!??" You sent it at 2:00 am! I am sleeping! It is like people don't have any respect for other people's time anymore.

Hiring people will only increase the cost of the product.

Those guys are busting their ass, probably too exhausted to answer emails right now, that and having to do the OXP on top of everything. We used to do shows for the products we sold, it eats up a lot of time and energy.

A little patience goes a long ways (which I know is a rare thing these days)

Why I quoted you: Hiring people will only increase the cost of the product. That and if they are too busy not to answer emails themselves right now, guessing they are too busy to do interviews and train them too.

That is coming from a person who used to have employees.

I have a job offer for startup company that needs to scale up their production. At a hi level reviewing their product that needs scaling up, one thing that becomes clear is the customer service part of their business model, and how that can be scaled up, maintaining the very part of their product that has given them an edge over competition. What impact does that have on their unit cost, and finding the right people to deliver their service is probably the biggest hurdle facing the startup. Is it scalable? Where/what are the limits to that service model, and still keep the company profitable so it can continue? Perhaps the business model has to adjust as well. In GFC's case I'm sure they will adapt, and address the challenge that's being noticed, based on the quality and the fact they are delivering product. The 'white glove' treatment of delivering products individually by the founders might not be sustainable, especially at the cost of communicating to current customers, and yes, communications with their customers is a key component of 'service' that needs to be addressed. Keep in mind these are not newbies to manufacturing. They'll come around, just everybody these days expects 'instant gratification'; a trend not isolated to Millenials.

Easier to have that perspective when you literally got the first one and wayyyy before most of us have even gotten an update. I see what you’re saying though.

People who haven't even ordered one have their panties in a bundle. It must be poor communication. :argue:.

Who WOULDN"T expect the timelines to slip on a brand new hand made product?

I see new ones being delivered almost daily. And, that's only for TW - I'm sure there's plenty going out to non-whiny people who are not on TW.

I'm expecting my call any day. Yes, I may have to scramble to go pick it up - it would be way more convenient if they had 20 of them in inventory and I just picked my color and paid my $$.

Still cracks me up that folks haven't bought one - and don't plan on buying one are complaining.
