That's what I was telling my brother on Sunday. Worry about showing with perfect form over and over and over again, and the accuracy will become natural.

Haha. The yips. I am not sure what else to call it. Other than target panic.

I have seen some for sale at my local shop/3D course. But they are in really really rough shape. Not worth it IMO.
    These look awesome!

How do you like it? I found a good deal on a HHA OL5519. Haven't decided to pull the trigger on it yet.

What is the most basic single pin sight I can get?

I dont really need the on the fly adjustment I keep seeing. The dials etc..

Currently have a triple pin, but honestly the way I shoot, I'll never use more than one.

I have a 3 pin and took 2 of the pins out. Sighted in about an inch high at 20 yards and good out to 33-35. I'm not a good enough shot to shoot at anything over 35. Plus thats a pretty long shot in most whitetail woods. Average is usually 15-20. Imo.

I have done that for years. No confusion when you draw back. If they are 4 or 5 yards away, you have to hold 3 or 4 inches low (when in a treestand)

Right on, just compensate for distance. No need for another pin.

5519 is the sight I have with the blue burst LED light and I love it. I don't see my self buying another site for a long time. Easy to setup and I'm very accurate with it!
Again, the HHA 5519 is single pin sight that I have coming from a trophy ridge 3 pin. It was weird at first only having one, but I got used to it. I'm very familiar with my property so I can tell where the deer are traveling to and from so I know which distance I'm sittings before hand.

Ok, I have a little different perspective. For years I have shot a mid weight arrow, about 420 grains at 275fps. This allows me to zero my pin for 25 yards. I'm about 2" high at 20 yards and about 2" low at 30 yards. Has worked great for me. I also have a 40 and 50 yard pin. Most of my practice is done at 40+ yards. Why? Because it forces me to be a better shot. When I can stack arrows at 45 yards, it makes that 23 yard shot feel like a chip shot. 90% of my bow kills have been with my 25 yard pin. There have been a few where i'm glad I have the 40 yard pin. Even though you may never take a shot past 30 yards, put some longer distances in to your practice routine. You won't be disappointed.

This makes sense. I just suck past 35 even though I should practice farther to make the close shots easier.

just remember closer the target aim higher or you are going to shoot under it. Ive found so long as you dont put the pin over the back of the deer, you wont go under or over it out to about 30-35yds.

Like others said just use one pin take the others out....

I used to suck at this range, too - probably still do. But now I take a few 50-60 yard shots at targets every week and those 35-40 yard shots are getting easier.

Very true! I'll shoot between 45-60 yards in practice. It makes a huge difference when hunting and most of my shots are 20-25 yards:thumbsup:

I'm been looking at those sights. Can get one pretty cheap right now.

Thing is, I get a entry level TruGlo three pin. I only like the top pin and I'm hitting shit and getting consitant groups. Why fix what's not broken?

The one thing I am thiking of doing though is getting TruGlo's Tritium pin which is handy for low light when the sun isnt lighting up those fiberoptics. I have Tritium sights on my CZ P07 pistol, them. Thinking that would be handy to have on my bow.

Anybody know where I can pick up some wood grips for a Hoyt bow?

But the anticipation of it striking the target is nerve wracking. At that instance I can almost take a drink of water while waiting.. ROFLMAO

I totally get it man. Maybe I'll try out the other pins.

I was taught very traditionally when I was a boy. We didnt even use sights. So just using a 1 pin sight is pretty fancy to me. Really increases your accuracy. Bows are so high tech now.
