Long Travel BS Thread

Have any of you guys found insurance that’s full coverage for modified trucks? Was putting insurance back on my truck yesterday and saw progressive won’t allow full coverage on vehicles with modified suspension. Which I haven’t noticed over the last 3 years. So now I can only have liability.

 

I think State Farm will, at least in my state. I’ve asked about accessories/mods a couple times (not specifically lifted suspension) and their reply is that it is covered as long as it is bolted on/permanent. I had a Bakflip tonneau on at one point that was destroyed by hail and they covered it without question.

 

I got geiko to cover an up to $3k of coverage in suspension mods (they couldn't add any more value than that) with full coverage. Not sure how much my premium increased, should probably tell them I took it off now lol.

 

Some times I wish I drank beer. I’m about to cut out the holes in my cab for the cage. Still caring to much right now and overthinking it. I need to just sack up and cut it.

Anyone have issues trying to replace Uniballs on Camburg UCA? Got the snap ring out, gave the uniball some love taps with a hammer, Got it to move a little bit but then it stopped. Uniball is past the snap ring groove and I can see a gap on the top but my 12 ton press isn't moving the thing. Supposedly you dont have to press these things out at all, but the uniball is pretty stuck in the cup and I see alot of corrosion around the uniball cup. Im guessing some salt water corroded the cup itself and is halting movement on the uniball.

 

maybe soak it in 50/50 acetone/atf and give it some vibrations from an air hammer while pressing it carefully?

 

Yeah I'm debating on just waiting til Tuesday to give Camburg a call and see what they say on this. If I have to mail em all off to them to get it out. I dont have a Uniball press tool on hand so I don't want to fuck anything up trying to get this done. Trucks been down for like 2 months anyways, another month won't hurt.

See if you can have your friend fab you up something like this - they sold it when the kit was "Defined" and the guy didn't work for TC yet. He said the stock shackle mounts would bend and @Mxpatriot had one break on him w/ that kit too.

 

Yes. Attaching it to the spare tire crossmember or frame would be good. The x-runners came from the factory with an x-brace that tied the rear suspension together and attached to the frame near the rear bumper.

Better yet take a look at those new MT Archive hangars and brace it too...I had a cross brace on my OE hangars and drivers side started to crack

 

No idea if it's still for sale. The post/thread is from 2010, and the seller only bumped it once.
