It’s only about the Fallen Ones. Honor and never forget their ultimate sacrifice. I do appreciate the sentiment of thanking Veterans and Active Duty members, but I and the others who can read this are the fortunate ones not being honored today. It is our Brothers and Sisters not here, and their loved ones that miss them who hold this Sacred Day dear to them.

I have always said the true heros don’t get to come home. I am always grateful to anyone who has served.

Thank you Dacon for the thread, for honoring our fallen heros. It's become too easy for people to forget how we are able to live in such a wonderful country , to be able to be free and enjoy life. God Bless America!

Thank you so much for saying this! Every year I see people thanking veterans or veterans taking credit for their service on Memorial Day and it drives me crazy. Veterans Day is for veterans. Memorial Day is for remembering all those who died serving our country. Simple as that. Spread the word cuz 80% of us got it wrong.

It's like getting punched in the gut every time I see these, but very necessary. It hurts but we got to remember. Thanks for sharing and I'm sorry for your loss.

It's not a time to thank Veterans !!! , that day is in November and Veterans Day . Memorial day is only to remember and honor our Military members who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our Freedom

Yesterday I spent time at Riverside National Cemetery and placing pennies on the tombstones of the fallen !!

As a Veteran I agree that this day belongs to the Fallen. It's a day to Honor and thank them for the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. For some reason Honoring the Fallen has been been hijacked by those who want to include Veterans . Each day has it's place and time but on Memorial Day, (which is the most important American Holiday) lets educate those who try to include us Veteran's. I thank those family's who have lost one or more loved ones in all conflicts. $.02

Remember our absent comrades! Honor their sacrifice and their memory always. (Also know, since we're being specific... that Memorial Day is and always has been 30May. This Monday stuff is just to give civilians a long weekend. Next thing you know we'll be celebrating Independence Day on 06July or 02July or some such nonsense.) I will hoist a toast to my fallen bretheran and kin on Wednesday, but I think of them daily.

Well it's sad but not surprising, there was only 20 responses to this thread. I know that the forum is supposed to be about Tacomas but you could have started a thread about how to cook the best steak on your grill this Memorial Day Weekend and there would have been a thousand post. Thanks alot people you never cease to amaze me until someone tries to take something from you. I'll say it again...God Bless our Fallen Servicemen and God Bless America!

Instead of jumping into negative accusations, some might not like advertising this day. It is a day of reverence and remembering loved ones, not of celebration.

I for one do not go around on the Internet looking for praise and glory especially on days like this.

Some others are different, but I can only speak for myself not looking for that pat on the back. I just spread awareness when it is needed for this sacred day.

It is a trying time for a lot of us and we do not like to chat about it.
