    Was this today?

I just got back home from Bishop and came up on a group of Tacomas in the Cajon Pass that looked like they were out playing this weekend, or just today.

I think it was a gray turd gen with an RTT, and at least 2 1st gen's.

That is pretty awesome. I would like a 1st gen 4runner as my next project. And, hopefully after my brother's wedding in 2 weeks, I will start getting things in motion to get my truck running.

RCV said they will warrantee their axles for tires up to 39.5", so I will stay under that with my current truck. The 35's have been good to me so far.

I always encourage others to get on the solid axle train. Even running leaf springs, there is so much shit you can do for way cheaper than an IFS build.

A 1st/2nd gen 4runner, or pre-tacoma pickup would be the best starting point, aside from an '85.

From what we were told the section after that gatekeeper is worse than the gatekeeper...two jeeps broke down on it apparently today...minor damage at the opposite end for us, but that bypass sure is fun, definitely also not for the faint of heart haha, that gatekeeper I think I will leave alone until I am LT on 35’s

From what some other guys said both claim vehicles on a regular basis. Ive never run John Bull so i cant say for sure, but holcomb has water in the end and in other sections...so if you slip off you could get high centered n break something. Im sure you could do the same on JB

I have done John Bull. But I am not a fan of water crossings with my truck.

Its not deep in any way, just makes for muddy slick boulders like the size that are on john bull

These guys were doing trail maintenance by taking rocks from the gatekeeper and running then farther down the trail, in the process making the gatekeeper harder
Was fun watching them drag the trailer through the whole section
They told us the other week dude rolled at the second obstacle and had his arm out the window...smashed his arm in several places then drove himself out and to the hospital
