    For those with 100K, did the port injectors really solve the carbon-build up issue associated with Direct injection?

    had my 2016 just over 2 years put 70K on the clock and nock on wood no problems.

    I had a 1979 FWD that I sold in 1999 that had 133,000. Replaced the brakes once, one starter, and one U-joint. Other than that no problems in 20 years.

    Not necessarily true. Doesn't Toyota use those little spring clips that push the pads apart to keep drag off the rotor? Obviously it's not going to push the cylinder in but it's gotta account for something right?

    Those are pad wear indicators . They are designed to squeal when the pads get low so you dont keep driving till it's metal on metal. They dont push the pads off the rotor.

    Well I wouldn't say it pulls the pads off the rotors and would allow them to make a slapping noise.

    It definitely pulls em off the rotor. That's the whole point haha. But yeah I agree, only thing I can think of, is the hardware gets worn and when backing up and hitting the brakes the pad slides down, when rolling ahead and hitting the brakes the pad will slap back down causing the noise. I had an older Honda that did that.
