Morning all! Got up around 5 this morning. So nice,no ones up yet.Peaceful
Planned bicycle ride this morning, but Alberto has screwed that one up.We have had a bunch of rain this year.At times almost non stop.
But the garden looks great and everything is growing so well.Wife finally decided to plant the okra and some cucumbers.
Didn't really have plans for the rest of the day.Looks like l can go down today to Lowes to buy 2 interior doors for the upstairs bedrooms.lt has had a couple of louvered ones since the house was first built.(Still trying to figure out why those type doors!?)

Hope everyone remembers all the veterans on this solemn day! Never was in the service but respect all that have come and gone. Thanks to all on here that served!

    Have a safe one

Hope folks are enjoying the long weekend. I urge everyone to observe at least a moment of silence today, thinking of those who sacrificed their lives in the name of our country. There are plenty of things to argue about these days but I hope we can all agree that those people deserve our thoughts today. (I've had plenty of time to do that myself. I finally gave up trying to sleep and got up at 4:00am.)

Yesterday I finished reassembling my 2-ton floor jack. Sears Craftsman, 40-something years old, wouldn't hold pressure anymore. The slow leak it's had for a decade finally got fast enough to make it pretty useless. I priced new ones but thought it would be a waste to just discard this one. Incredibly I found a repair kit on Amazon, spent some tearing it down and cleaning it up, and now it's back in service! Hopefully anyway; I haven't tried lifting anything serious with it yet.

    Weird stuff!
There's both dark and white birch beer, as stated my preference is the white out of a keg and on tap, then there's also root beer! All of those sodas have been around in our area as long as I can remember, now you really need to try a root beer float! :)

Thank you to all of our veterans past and present, who have paid/are paying the price for our freedom which so many take for granted.

Prayers for all who are in harms way even as we celebrate this day of remembrance.

    Did someone say beer?

Greetings. I aged up to this thread about a year ago. I tried to follow the 50+ thread but it moved too fast for me :anonymous:

Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day.

All this talk about beer. I have one Shiner Bock left in the fridge. Steak, potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cob and a salad for dinner tonight.

Welcome. The beverage is in the cooler to your right and there is a rocking chair to your left. Oh yes you need to get some ice for the cooler.
