    Due to the surprise appearance from somebody from episode 1 (not going to spoil it) and the fact the Rebellion hadn’t started yet. It has to be post episode 1 and pre rogue one right?

    In my mind with the appearance of that character it puts the solo movie occurring before or During the Phantom Menace unless that was not who we think it was...
    That’s the ONLY thing that’s got me messed up because Han would have to be a LOT older in episode 4 to make that fit.

    No it was who you think it was, did you notice his legs? That’s how you know it’s post episode 1. And then “big shot gangster” on tattoine is mentioned so you know they’re talking about Jabba. And Han ran quite a few jobs for Jabba before episode 4.

    I had to look that part up yesterday after seeing the movie. Solo is obviously post Episode 3 because the Empire is firmly established. Apparently in the now canon cartoons the character survived and got new parts and pieces.

    That’s true... I didn’t even think about Han joining the empire to be a pilot and the stormtroopers and star destroyer would obviously set the time line between episode 3 and 4!

    That particular character doesn't actually die until he confronts Obi Wan on Tatooine, 2yrs before the events of episode IV A New Hope. Solo takes place about 10BBY, 0BBY is where episode IV ends.

    The Battle of Yavin is when Luke blew up the 1st Death Star. Yavin 4 was the moon on which the rebel base was located.

    Its how they make the star wars timeline...like B.C. and A.D. in real life. Episode 1 is 30-somthing years BBY meaning it takes place 30 years before the last few minutes of episode 4.
