I’ve never seen one caulked in. They are supposed to be easily accessible for the air motors and such. Mine is wedged in with 2 small blocks on the floor and the ends being behind the front and rear edge.

I’ll host one in July in Huntsville if people would like. I normally do one quarterly, but travel this year has been a little strenuous.

Diatomaceous earth works awesome, kills the whole nest, and it continues working as long as it doesn't get wet.

depending on what shell you have I recommend doing that stuff for sure. I have the seal that you show for the side rails that I am going to put on when I put my shell back on, but before I was just running the stuff from O'reilly's that's just flat. You won't waterproof the thing unless you do your bed cubbies and whatnot, all the seals do is waterproof from rainwater from above. my Leer shell overhangs the sides of the bed though so it's not much issue for me.

that's exactly what I have. you'll be good to run some of that then. the front of the bed definitely has the largest gap in it, but you'll want this stuff even for padding because the shell directly on the bed caps just seems like a bad idea to me lol
