What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I graduated yesterday.

I'm on the fence about those gussets. I'm not sure if I would rather lose my alignment vs. bending something further upstream.

I guess I'm not sure if they are intentionally weak or not.

 

The easy part is over, but I got a good feeling you will have no problem dealing with "life".

Did you ever top up your front diff?

 

Yup! I went home and topped it up same day. Used about 1/3 of a quart I think.

 

I dented my bumper. A tree stump jumped out in the road.



Before that, I painted my 4Runner wheels. Yet another Lunar Mist 1st gen with black rims.

 

He also made a YouTube video of his truck running with the 305cc and tells how he has used it on 3 different 1st gens and all didn't need any type of ECU modification. The supra injectors are plug and play with our trucks. The only issue is those injectors are scarce.

 

my Land cruiser is misfiring and I can't figure out why

 

1st thing is look at coil packs and plugs and wires

 

Yup, just took of the dizzy and checked in there, looked nice and clean. Guess I gotta pull all the plugs, meh.

 

Remember to look for carbon tracks, they are hard to see sometimes

 

It's very strange, I washed the engine yesterday, it didn't want to start but eventually did. Drove it all day without misfires or problems. Then parked ivernight and now it's acting up. I would have figured it would act up yesterday if anything. Engine gets hot and it's hot out, I'd think water from yesterday would be long gone by now.

 

god that thing is just such a hideous disaster

wait i just noticed something new...does it have one single windshield wiper?

 

Run the engine in the dark with the hood open. Might be able to see an arcing wire.

@Speedytech7 how important is it that the AFR gauges go in front of both cats? The nuts on the collector are just about rounded off. Not my handiwork, but I don’t think I’ll be able to pull the front cat to put the bung on there. Unless I can just drill in on the side of it and not give a shit about metal shavings going down my exhaust.
