What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Going have to replace my carrier bearing. Dad's trying to talk me into a one piece driveshaft but I want to keep it a two piece

 

Nothing wrong with a one piece, just have to make sure your pinion angle and tailshaft angles are on point to avoid vibes.

 

Remove pillar plastic and wires go through the steel pillar into dash area

 

Keep it two piece if you are going to wheel it. You’ll keep it out of the rocks much better than a one piece

 

What's with the shower stall handle on the hood? I hope this individual can't procreate.

It was a productive few days. I got my Dakar AAL installed, LED headlights, put my canopy on, and wired up power to the bed for camping.






Also, does anyone have one of these rubber seals that go on the back of the headlight that they'd want to sell me? I tore one of mine when I was installing my LED bulbs.

 

Yea, but as soon as I install LT I'd have to get a new one reason made. Wouldn't I?

exactly my thinking, I never had any problems with a two piece. It just has some extra u-joints and a bearing involved

 

@2BeersPlease this makes me question where humanity will be at in the future...

 

One piece doesn't mean solid, it means it doesn't have a joint set in the middle with a support bearing. It still slips in and out to cover axle travel.

 

God forbid it rains a considerable amount lol

 

I know, but wouldn't the angles change

 

Maybe depending on how poorly you put your new spring perches on haha. Overall length may be needed to cover all the travel from LT but position shouldn't, can always clock your axle to account for it.

 

You’ll never notice a difference in solid vs slotted vs race car rotors. There’s much difference in the different rotor types and some need a heavier braking system to stop boats/big rims & tires, trail rigs and on & on.

Buy oem from NAPA/O’Reilly’s/Autozone/Amazon/ and you’ll be fine.

Yeah.. I’m not in az otherwise I would have hit one of you up. It just needs to hold till I can get to my cousins. He has a welder. It’s SUPPOSED to be for exhaust repairs and stuff like that.
