Ordered up a set of Mobtown sliders with their sale, no plates, 0 degree. I'm really excited. I think I come from a different world, but if I can see the value in something I will usually save to get the costlier item.

For me - I dont do a lot with rocks. Florida just doesnt have that many, and when I take my hunting trips the roads are usually rock free. I'll be going to WY and CO over the next few years, but I doubt they will be any issue. What I do risk, is trees. I go down a lot of windy roads and make some precarious turns next to trees. My grandpa has skinned the side of his truck twice. Granted, sliders won't save you from all trees but they will hopefully save you from the one you ended up just slightly too close to.

I wish they still sold them like this without their logo and the word "tyger" like the current ones. I would buy in a heartbeat if so.

Could always have that one piece removed with a torch.

Could, but it would look like shit and I'd need to put new plates in and by that point the time/money involved makes it pointless.

I bought Allpro Apex bolt on sliders when they were still in Montana. Wife uses them as a step, close enough that I just step over. Sure like the extra protection, especially in parking lots. Like others have mentioned can be used to lift the truck with a Hi-lift. Really only needed for hunting season. Have seen the results of a step getting smashed into a rocker panel, did not want to go that way. In in my opinion worth the extra $.

I was in the same boat 2 years ago. Wife is 5'1", I'm 5'6", was debating between sliders vs steps. ~$500 for the OEM tube steps vs a bit more for sliders. Like many, I don't wheel hard enough (gravel drive ways, eh-hem) where there is any chance for needing it. I did see the value of something stronger than just bolted to the cab floor and I liked the idea of it extending past the door for door dings at the mall. I was originally seeing about $500 for bolt on sliders, but with powder coat, fill plates and shipping, I got my Mobtown units for $1k. I had mine set at 0 degrees and they work great as steps - I use it to get in and out every time. Yes, it was double what I wanted to spend but it was worth every penny for me.

6DAFCDC5-9E8A-493A-A35C-BC80C8A48AB9.jpgRci’s with top plate installed yesterday. My 4 year old loves them. Got them because of durability. Don’t use them to “slide” over rocks but I almost slid into a stump last year and this made me decide on sliders. These are set at 5 degrees.

Do you know the clearance that your tyger side steps have from their lowest point to the ground? I have predator tube steps but they have been almost to the point of the step portion being too low.
