Looking to replace OEM headlight build with LED. What’s the best rated LED bulb out there? I heard some concerns of flickering, etc. What to say away LEDs that may do that.

V-LED low and high beam headlights.
I chose the Micro LED from v-leds for both low and high beams. Pay no attention to the HID only peeps. I am very happy with these bulbs and they are more then adequate with very good throw.

I will tell you now with personal experience from having LED bulbs in both low and high beams, only get hid.

LED don’t produce enouph heat to keep the lights from freezing over. If you see snow or ice it may turn your lights to ice balls.

My sentiment as well. I run LED's in both positions, fogs as well. I used a high end bulb from superbrightleds.com for my regular lights and two sets of 10k lumen bulbs from Amazon for my highs and fogs. Now my fogs offer a TON of extra light up front. Increased my visibility substantially over the stock halogens.

How blind are you that you need 10k lumens per light to see what in front of you? How annoying are you to other drivers. I would be flipping you off if I was driving toward your car. Not that you could see it but fuck that. Stupid fuck heads think your cool.

    Hahaha. "Stupid fuck heads"? :hattip:

Buddy, the 10ks are in my fogs. They're so low that they aren't blinding anyone. The other set of 10ks are in my highs. I only use them when I absolutely need them. My regular bulbs are something like 6500k and cool white. I'm not blinding anyone.

Im not your buddy. Fogs still blind people. I see pleanty of civics and other cars on the ground with fogs almost touching the ground still blinding me. It’s good you say you only use them when you need them. But your light bar I see in the middle of your bumper will out preform any fogs or hids or any h11 configuration you can figure out to use.

Hey Man - so let me share my .02

I currently have Morimoto 2Stroke LED kits in both my low beams, and high beams. Additionally, I have the Morimoto XB LED Fog Light Kit as well. There are pros and cons I can see for both, but overall they still kicks ass and you won't be disappointed. I will say, however, that the overall light output may be a bit brighter with a high quality Xenon kit. The LEDs are great though because they come on instantly, the do not flicker at all, and the light matches perfectly with the OEM headlight led strip regardless of highs/low/fogs. They still throw plenty far, far more superior to the halogen bulb, plus no bulb error, and the cutoff is strong. The LED kit in the high beam position is insane, but it will absolutely piss off oncoming traffic if you leave it on.

** Be prepared for an aggravating install though. There is not enough clearance behind the headlight for the low beam to install the 2Stoke LED. You'll need to pop the bumper a bit to get to the headlight bolts, and tilt the headlight forward just a bit to get the bulb to seat. **

Here's the kit, but be sure to double check your bulb size... I just googled the kit for a reference here.

Very much all of this. I had to take my bumper halfway off to get the headlights out and mount the new bulbs.

This is true. The reflector in the fog housing it not nearly focused and spreads light all over the place. You will experience light creep in that your fogs drift into on coming traffic. The only solution is a new housing.

Adding brighter lights only exacerbates the issue. Brighter lights are also a disservice in inclement weather and fog due to the reflection.

    Went with the following:

1). PIAA G3 LED (H9/H11) for High Beams, Low Beams and Fog Lights

    http://www.piaa.com/g3ledbulbs

2). Replaced all standard bulbs (i.e. tail light, backup light, rear/front turn signal, interior map/dome, license plate...etc.) with Diode Dynamics. Currently have the bulbs installed without any hyper-flashing occuring, have not needed to add a resistor.

3). Replaced the vanity mirror lights with VLED's.

Never understood the expensive obsession with lights, especially on road.

In 12 years of owning a 1st gen, I only replaced a couple headlights, that’s it. (Except the stereo and aftermarket alarm I had to take out after install costing me $4000)

I’m not fucking with any electrical, not lights, not stereos, not dual battery, not LED lights. Too many problems down the road.

Although I did replace the stock battery with a bigger Oddysey.

Yeah, I kinda know what you mean, but in my mind NOTHING could be worse than the shit I had to do for my VW GTI.

That thing had so many electrical gremlins and I left it stock... Shits par for the course for me now.

My friend’s Dad had an old Jetta that had so many electrical issues, he got pissed and set the thing on fire and sent it to scrap!

He was a bit of a hot head, no pun intended. But, never a dull moment at their house.

I’ve got plenty more stories with that family.

    hahaha

I literally had to dielectric grease my brake lights every summer so the humidity didn't make the computer think the bulbs had shorted out. It seriously had a "limp mode" for bulbs that were actually working just fine.
