    DON'T!

I had the same problem and tried to rub it off too! It just made it worse. What the darker color is is just a painted cover color for the lighter inner plastic. Find another way, what looks like a scuff on top is really a scuff in the cover itself. I don't know the paint, have asked and no answers...

Yeah my girlfriend sometimes puts her feet up there with her shoes on. I get pissed because she always leaves marks.

There is another product I use to clean the interior that works very nicely without harm. In fact I use it almost every time after washing the truck. It's called Ballistol. It emulsifies with water. By mixing 50/50 in a spray bottle it cleans all the hard surfaces of the interior and makes it look new again. No color change, no harmful effects. Not sure of any stores that carry it locally, but it can be ordered on line. Really good stuff.

Tell her to stop it. god forbid you get in an accident while her feet are up there, she will get hurt or killed especially if you have a passenger side airbag.

    RIP Lucy.
    She's gone but not forgotten.
I feel for ya. I made the mistake of using black RTV to glue my radar detector mount down to the dash. It's been over a year trying to get the marks off. Ended up covering them with my GPS mount. Please let us know if / when you find something that works for ya.
