Yeah i was planning on the 395 trip for the second to last week of april till I flew up to seattle a month ago n we swung over the sierras, saw all the snow n knew I had to postpone. Looks like you found a sick little place to post up though!

yeah my truck is where the fun money goes, lol. At least for the foreseeable future. Would probably get an Outback, pretty capable for fire road-family camping right out of the box. If I want to camp somewhere really remote and hard to get to, I'll take my truck and maybe one other person with me. xtra cab 1st gen problems...

I think they actually close the gate to the Laurel Lakes trail until late May, I was told that it was opened just last week because the campgrounds are accessible now (the lakes still aren't). In fact I think a lot of campsites in the Mammoth area are closed for winter/spring seasons. It was still fun though, except we weren't prepared very well for rain. Weather out there is unpredictable to say the least.

That would be a big test of my ability to control myself...I'd look for a DCLB 2015 personally, but I need something I wouldn't be tempted to blow more money on than I already do on my truck.

Anyway this is a little ways down the road still...I have wedding planning finances that are stressing me out enough as it is, haha.

I have very similar floor mats to these that I got off of Amazon for $30 as well...had them in my truck for over 2 years now and they've been through a lot. They certainly aren't Weathertechs, but I really like them. I had to notch a hole in the driver's side one so that it would hold in place on the floor and not slide around.

I have the Weather Teh cut-to-fit and really like them. They were like $40 for front and rear mats and they didn’t require that much cutting to get to fit nice.

Get Amazon Prime. Best investment I have ever made. I get free same day shipping in my area, otherwise I don’t have to wait any longer than two days to get something I need. Sometimes two hour shipping is a thing with PrimeNow. Comes with Prime Video and Music too.
