Thanks for the pictures. I like the idea of the new window, but understand that the hatch is probably more useful. I skipped both.

Edit: Agreed the Habitat wins of those.

The best hatch I've seen is the FrontRunner one. It's pretty sturdy compared to all the other offerings out there.

    https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.com/en/us/storage-systems/gullwing.html

As for the Summit, I think I'd go w/ the Vagabond setup given the chance to start over, the biggest issue I've experienced is wind. Anything over 10mph and I can't sleep. There's so much more room in terms of cable management, since the four wiring panels are removable and the wiring channel at the top of the shell is deeper and wider, which is nice. Anyone with a Habitat trying to install 12v cigarette sockets in the corner panels will understand my pain.

I also don't need to pay $2,000 more for:
    • a blanket on the walls
    • two gas struts
    • two additional aluminum honeycomb panels
Arguably one of the largest costs on the original habitat was the tent from nemo, esp since they had some production issues with the materials vendor. I expect that this model will be very profitable for AT esp since they have the capability to scale up and build for basically all fullsize and half ton pickups.

There is just no way I could go with one of the wedge style campers after having the space in the habitat.

Leaving on a 4 night trip here in a half hour or so... supposed to rain all weekend

Paint to match. The only option I wished I would have sprang for. The "clear coat" they put on is thin and scratches right off.

Getting tired of waiting on Prinsu. I contacted Front Runner to see about doing a cab rack. :fingerscrossed:

    :annoyed:

Well I look forward to seeing what you get, I myself am tired of dealing with trying to get a Prinsu. Even if it cost more I think I'll end up going the Front Runner route, and if that doesn't work I'll get the k9 from AT.

Above I attached some pictures of mine with the side doors and front and back windows. (makes for better driving being able to see and my wife likes it) The side doors are super cool, and I like being able to get stuff out of them. I'll be making a custom shelving and storage unit for it, can't justify goose gear...

Saw a silver Tacoma with Habitat heading south between Shelton and Olympia, Washington on 101 Saturday around noon. Anyone on here? First time I've seen one outside of the NWOL Rally last year.

Led strips on the rear hatch are clutch. They light up the inside when hatch is closed and outside around tailgate when flipped up. I also have some LED strips from Matt Gecko on the bedrails. No plans for any exterior side lighting at this point as I haven't seen a real need for it yet.

Here is a picture I posted earlier that kind of shows the lighting on mine.

Anyone have problems trying to close the latches of the hatch with the wire loops that they call handles?
