Getting back to that small grill that you’re going to be passing through. In order to mount the light bar. I slid the bracket up to the horizontal rib of the grill and marked on both sides and cut just that little piece out of the grill, about 3/8 of an inch wide.If you didn’t want to fuss with it being that close you certainly can cut that whole rib out. I’m just type A!
    Lol

Ok, I appreciate your patience with me. I tend to go nuts with questions because I am no expert at any of this.

#1, ok, so here is the best picture of that lower grill by itself I can find and so I can understand this. You cut this center horizontal part a little?:

    upload_2018-5-29_12-26-41.jpg

Or you had to cut these (see second photo below) top and bottom parts a little because the bracket is too wide (tall) to fit through the opening as is:

    upload_2018-5-29_12-27-44.jpg

I can see how the bracket is is notched to fit above and below that center piece so I will assume you mean you had to make cuts as shown in this second photo.

#2 The brackets that attach from the light bar mount to the truck, attach here right (circled in red)?:

    upload_2018-5-29_12-11-12.jpg

#3 Yeah, if the brackets attach at the location shown in number 2 above, then I will assume like most of these light bar brackets, they come forward then are bent inward on both sides which mean those air deflector plastic pieces would have to be cut. Nice that you pointed out exactly how much cutting needs to occur so as to retain that third pin connection making them more stable, and also retaining the maximum amount of plastic as possible so they work more efficiently. Great job pointing that out!

#4 Yeah, unless there is a need to keep the mount closer to the truck I think I will just leave it like that as well. Depends on how much room I have.

#5 Ok, then I will just leave the license plate alone. I removed my valance so I don't want to have to get another mount for the tag and Maryland requires them on the front somewhere so it will just stay there.

    Thanks again.

I am going to call 4Wheel Parts and ask about this and if they know if new orders ship with the NFab brackets.

    Thanks again Doug!

The first photo, absolutely the first photo! LOL!
do not do what you show in the second photo. Like I said, you can cut that entire horizontal center rib out or just enough to let the mounting bracket pass through. If you go on and N-fabs website, on the page where our bracket is, there is a PDF of the instructions. Download it and you will see how everything mounts with the exception of the changes that I have done that you see on this thread. Thank you for the compliments. You could contact and n-fab to see if they are putting those brackets in the box or not instead of contacting 4wheel parts and having them tearing the box apart because everything is wrapped inside.

Oh yeah, and my license plate is not mounted to that lower valence. I used 2 bookshelf L brackets and utilize two holes that were already up underneath there and mounted the plate by it self.

I forgot to menschen, no on your last photo. in is mounted on the inside, in front of the radiator. that's why you have to take the front grille off. But I assure you its not that difficult to do
this job. after your done, you'll agree.

Ok, before we get into anything else. I called 4Wheel Parts. As you said, they had no idea about the special light mounting brackets. So, I called N-Fab, spoke to a great guy named Scooter. He said to shoot him an email with my mailing information and he would "get some brackets into production and sent out to me". This seemed very odd that they don't just have these laying around. But who am I to question, so I hope you don't mind but I am going to send a snippet of the brackets installed in the beginning of this thread so there is no question what I am talking about. He didn't say anything about a price and I am no fool so I didn't bring it up. LOL

Yea, I've had my grill off twice now and agree, it is actually very easy to do. It took me less than 5 minutes the second time. It takes me longer to get my tools assembled to do it.

Ok, so you have to cut that center horizontal rib in the lower grill huh? Seems like your pics made it seem like that piece that goes inside there would straddle it with that notched design. Odd, very odd.

Oh, I looked on the N-Fab website and I didn't see any files I can download for instructions, but I am still looking.

Thanks again Doug. LOL. I would rather get all this out of the way before the parts arrive than be sitting there scratching my head the day of the install.

I haven't even begun on the wiring questions yet either!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Shoot, I thought there were up close pics of the light bar brackets you guys got from N-Fab. I see the white but not the ones on yours. Do you have a close up pic?

Wires, what wires? This thing is solar powered, LOL. And feel free to use info with them from my thread, I have been in conversation with their president and they have been given him the hot link to this Thread. And I’m sure they have a bin full of those brackets, probably trying to make it sound like they’re going out of their way to help you. Just my guess. I will re-look at the beginning of this thread and see if I can take photos this evening of what it looks like.

I’ll take some more pics. One thing I want to make sure I add here. Near the end of your installation you will be using a self tapping screw to screw part of the bracket into the aluminum tube that is attached to the bumper. This is a ONE shot deal!, so you better have everything lined up before you hit the trigger on your cordless drill.

And when you get it, if you could please post it on here. I’m kind of curious if they have tweaked the instructions.

HA HA HA! Very funny Doug. That would be cool though. Actually, the Auxbeam lights I got have complete plug-n-play harnesses. Everything is there. The fuse, relay and switches. All I need to do is connect the light bar wires, connect the harness to the battery, and run the switches inside the cab. I will just mount them in the little cubby to the left of the steering wheel for now. Ultimately I will adding a CH4X4 switch for them. I have a blank in that same area. I want to ultimately mount my brake controller in that cubby.

Yea, we shall see how it turns out. Seems like the brackets should come with the kit. I can understand not wanting to waste money though if some guys don't use them. Hey, I guess I should start buying security hardware. I will want SS of course.

I did the same thing with my hardware. I ask about the PDF because in my bracket box, there was zero instructions. I wired my lights post ignition because I didn’t want a constant hot to the lights in case I ever hit the switch in the daytime and didn’t know it And left them on all day

I like my NFab bar, FWIW when I mounted mine, The holes on the frame or front extension or whatever; I put them exactly symmetrical each side, mirror image of each other, and the bar was crooked compared to the front body panels; one side quite lower than the other (?). I took the bar back off, thinking the Nfab bar mounts must be crooked; no, they also were exactly symmetrical. FWIW I had to re-do the holes into the frame extension (?) on one side to get the bar to sit level on the truck. The truck frame also seemed to be level, no issues with that. Whatever; it's on and level now.

It is the aluminum square tube that is in-between the truck frame and the bumper (it holds the bumper on) designed as a crushpoint when hit.
