I guess my parents were breaking the law when they let me fill up the car all those times as a kid, or even as an unlicensed teenager. I didn't even get my driver's license until I was 22, so what about all those times I filled up the Tacoma when I had my learner's permit?!?!

 

I don't even think Dale is insane. He's just a diehard conspiracy theorist!

I was gonna say that CRT televisions have gone the way of the flip phone, but I've seen that a large number of people (including a good friend of mine) still use them. Not so for the old TVs!

I saw this old Magnavox at the curb while walking Tully today...

 

we didn't get our first HDTV until September 2007, We didn't have high-speed internet until 2005, we didn't get a dedicated DVD player until 2002, and we didn't get a vehicle with a CD player until 1996! My dad didn't like paying jacked up prices for new technology. However, we got our first computer in the 1980s, I believe we first got internet (albeit dialup) in the early 1990s, and my parents got their first cell phone in 1993. We weren't totally behind the times!

 

About 3 months ago a guy tried to give me a television something like that. Needless to say I didnt want it. I took one look at the thing and said that's a backache waiting to happen. He appeared to be hopped up on pills which by looking at him he most likely obtained legally. I still think he injured himself by lifting that television.

Here's a funny (and true) story about one of my friends with Aspergers (Mike)...

One thing that really drives him nuts is when he sees a car that's missing one or more hubcaps! When he was younger, at least two of his parents' cars (a 1980s K-car and a 1994-1995 Mercury Villager, I believe) had hubcaps that fell off a lot.

Whenever Mike sees a vehicle with even one hubcap missing, he starts going on about how it drives him crazy.

He also does not like 2-door vehicles (or at least 2-door vehicles with a backseat; my Taco doesn't count because it's an RC and thus no backseat). Why? From about 2005 until 2015, his parents had a 1997 Chevy Monte Carlo that they bought used for next to nothing. Getting into the back of the Monte Carlo was a chore, and Mike hated it. Because of this, he refuses to buy a 2-door car when he gets his license!

 

We got a lot of rain over the weekend, and some sump pumps are working overtime!

How many central air-conditioners does your house have? One or two? Do you have gas heat or a heat pump? My aunt and uncle used to live in Olney and their house had a heat pump.

Dude, I still have my old 32" Zenith from the late 90's upstairs in a closet collecting dust! It was our main TV up until 2013 when we got a 54" Samsung Plasma TV, one of the last ones made (I got it because LCD wasnt as advanced and cheap as it is now). We tend to hang onto things until they break, CRT televisions never seem to fail for some reason, kinda like old vacuum cleaners and Toyotas

 

Quarter past eight and the weather is still just ghastly!

 

Our 32" Sony Trinitron from 1995 failed in 2008...

 

Heat pump. And just one, it's a small rancher.
