yep....in order to do that they have to be certified by the manufactures for fly on one engine for a specific period of time.....Boeing and Airbus do that because the FAA will not certify without it....I am sure any plane coming to US must have the FAA certificatons as well

That's incorrect. Every vehicle goes through final inspection. No car company just lets cars go off the line without someone checking panel gap, mouldings, stickers, emblems, light function, door open/close, window up/down, valve stem caps installed, and the list goes on.

If you truly believe that every single vehicle off the line gets every detail rigorously inspected, well then I don't know what to tell you. If they were that thorough, people would never have new car horror stories. Dealers do prep packages that may be more in depth.

It's basic statistics though, you don't test every item, you get an adequate sample size and base it off that.

Go to any vehicle assembly plant and that's what final inspection processes look like.

I have 20 years of automotive manufacturing experience. I've been to many different vehicle and unit (engine/transmission) plants. You are mistaken if you think every assembled part doesn't get checked by every manufacturer.

I stand corrected. However, even with that inspection each part is clearly a quick check and not too in depth, so there are still mistakes. I was originally replying to someone who pointed out mismatched bedside decals. With a quick check, seeing "4x4" or "TRD" and missing the "sport" or "offroad" can easily happen (as it clearly did).

Toyota plant in Guanajuato will triple production capacity in first six years

Wow, Toyota keeps lowering their standards. Japan, to Fremont Ca, to San Antonio Tex, to Tijuana Mex and now Guanajuato Mexico.

Nine months after Toyota announced that its Guanajuato plant would produce Toyota pickups instead of the Corolla sedan, the Japanese automaker confirmed that the manufacturing complex is already 40% complete and on schedule to open by the end of 2019.

Previously the company had established a production capacity of 100,000 units per year, but according to Mexican media that figure is expected to increase.

Guillermo Díaz, Operations Director of Toyota Motor Sales of Mexico, informed in a press conference that, in a first phase, the plant will assemble 100,000 units and will generate 1,100 jobs. But in a second phase, the production will rise to 200,000 units and later it will reach a capacity of 300,000 light trucks, all this before 2025.

"Each phase will require the hiring of more technicians, it is estimated that in the end will have about 3,000 employees," said Diaz.

My '16 came from San Antonio. My '18 came from Mexico. The only quality difference I saw was that on the '18 they forgot to add the "made in Texas" card in the glovebox...

I swear the color on my 2017 Texas Cement Pro is slightly different than on my buddy's 2018 Mexico Cement OR.

Pretty funny, since the guy doesn't own a Tacoma.....

His next post will probably be all about how the new Ranger is being built in Michigan, hence better some how....

Somebody skimped on my ‘17’s final inspection in Mexico; the cab and bed were very badly misaligned, but so far so good on everything else.

I can only speak for my '18, but yeah, my driver side fender flare is already separating from the fender and the rear passenger taillight has a piece of weather stripping dangling...not huge issues, but definitely annoying.

For International certified planes on the front wheel cover you will see the letters ETOPS that is the international certification for two engines. Officially stands for Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards but often the joke is "Engines Turning or People Swimming"
