They had a fleet of Jettas and Rabbits.

The Dad was changing the oil one day and realized he had to go and get more oil and took another car to the auto parts store.

Well, his son Jimmy comes out, jumps in the car (with no oil in it) and takes off to wherever. The engine seizes several miles up the road.

I’ve got a few more stories. They rolled another car in a parking lot thinking they were F1 drivers.

They loved VW and they seemed to love destroying them. Their Dad was definitely crazier than my two friends.

I'd suggest either a retrofit or brighter halogens. I use Philips White Vision bulbs for lows and fogs. Rarely need to use highs, even on back roads. They are adequate for all weather. If I ever feel I need something brighter, it won't be for on-road use anyhow and I'll just add some pods or a bar.

false.. had mine of for 3 winters now.. no ice. Been in plenty of snow and ice too. Nothing under say -10F tho.

Bro bro.. calm the fuck down. In the perfect world you live in no-one gets blinded by lights. In the real world I live in, a good percentage of cars are driving around with lows AND highs on all the time and some with fogs in addition.

Is it right? No but truck lifted and rear view mirrors adjusted so problems solved.

LED for 3 years = my vote.

Hikari LEDs have been very good. Highly rated in the LED lighting thread as well.

    https://www.amazon.com/HIKARI-Headl...27616820&sr=8-2&keywords=hikari+led+headlight

I've replaced all my lights with them and love them. The low beams are a HUGE upgrade from stock. They throw farther than stock and fill in much better.

I don't use my fogs on the road when others are around because I feel they are very blinding but offroad or when nobody is around I use them and man, it's like having light bar!

It's direct plug and play! You can have them all installed in under 20-30minutes.

It's still not really cool to drive around with lights on-road that are clearly going to blind oncoming and even traffic in front of you if you can avoid it. In alot of cases it's illegal, but it's kind of subjective so alot of the time people don't get pulled over and get tickets for it. Obviously the worst of the worst is people putting HID bulbs in their halogen projectors, but I really don't like it when someone has HID's or super bright LED's that are either not properly aligned or have massive throw because they didn't do their research.

I personally have a custom HID retrofit (Miromoto D2S 4.0 projectors with Miromoto 4500k bulbs) and Morimoto XB 2.0 LED's for fogs and I really like my setup

Nice - I've got the knockoff Pro headlights from USR - going to do the swap this week sometime. I already have the RSI LEDs but looks like company is MIA. Thinking about getting these since there's no wiring needed like the RSI kit requires a harness and a separate power supply. Both are rated the same output 6000lm so shouldn't be any diff.

What are you doing for your high beams?? Doesn't look like these come in an H9 size??

The H11 will work in all of the lights - low, fog & highs.

This is 100% not this case in my truck which is a 2018 TRD Off Road. I received the same information from the vendor that sold me the 2Stroke kits. On the low beam, bulbs were a direct install from what The Retrofit Source sells, H11. However, for the high beam, I bought the same kit exact kit (as the vendor insisted would fit...) and to make a long story short, they are not the same bulb. The tabs are about 1/8 too long on each of the 3 sections, which don't allow the bulb to sit in the track where you turn and secure it. They ARE close, and I was able to modify the TRS ring to get them to fit. Chances are @bobrown14 is correct on the H9 fitment, which would explain having to trim the H11's.

Additionally, if you're concerned about light quality and flickering - I would definitely recommend to get a kit that comes with an external or upgraded driver (looks just like a xenon ballast blah blah.) This will regulate the voltage and ensure that the bulbs get a consistent range as intended. Again, just my .02, especially if you don't feel like pulling your bumper and replacing these again.

The H11's have all worked and secured in my truck fine, a 2017. From what I understand H11 and H9 use the same base.

This is a response I received from PIAA regarding a similar question regarding H11 vs. H9:

"They are the same when it comes to LED. The Halogen versions are only different by wattage but the LED version is the same. The beam pattern from high to low is controlled by the reflector not the bulb."

Maybe they're different depending on the kit? I can say at least for the Morimoto set that I have, you will not be able to install the high beam bulbs without literally cutting the bulb base.

Here's what I'm running, I went LED just cause it's plug and play, but I understand HID's are probably better. I have no complaints with these plenty of light output. The fogs I chose were not full 10000 lumens cause there is no need for that especially in a reflective housing. You will blind people even if you don't get flashed. I ran the full 10000 lumens for a bit in my fogs but my coworker said they blinded him when I would drive behind him. When I took a look for myself he was right. Anyways these fogs are perfect and do what fogs are suppose to do.

Hey @garcia12801 any reason you chose those CREE Hikari over the Phillips Hikari?

I just ordered these for high and low beams. I tossed and turned over these 2 and chose the Phillips. Not sure why I chose them. The Phillips are 12000lm so maybe a little brighter???

I have REAL fog lights - don't worry about blinding other cars cause I use them in well fog. Baja Design Squadron Pros... they are very good. Same intensity as my LED headlights I'm running now. I'm upgrading LEDs to the Hikari in my new Bro Pro headlights from USR.

    Phillips version:

Not really, never really looked too much at the Philips, I think the lumens are not much more once you start getting up there. I was very happy with he Cree Hikari, more than enough light. I'm more than sure the Philips are very good as well.
