Just got back from a road trip to Utah over the long weekend. We trailered the bikes down this go-around, but had a blast nonetheless.

Also a few recent bike mods. Big Al's gripper seat, Lucky Daves Lucky 13 bars, V&H Comp series 2-1 exhaust. Scored all this stuff mildly used for over half the price of brand new. I'm insanely happy with how the bike feels now compared to how I bought it.

Did you see the $11,500 CRF450R Works Edition? Lol. Only people buying those are going to be old Vet riders who have the $ to drop on such a bike. Cool bike, but still.

I’m probably biased, but a motorcycle is a motorcycle. I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

Haha touche. That Triumph rips.. Doesn't have the power of a Dyna, but it's simple, raw, and gets the job done.

I'm confused by that, they seem so different in riding. My 1200 Sporty (84) had enough power to be fun, but it wasn't quick in the turns or lightweight by any means.

Thanks. I've been looking at Memphis Shades and others as alternatives to the OEM Harley piece. ($$$)

Yeah, I ordered my first Harley piece for the new bike (Derby cover). Some of the shit they sell is ridiculous expensive. Black out pieces for chrome pieces are nuts. Someone should tell the Harley guys about plasti-dip. They'll loose their minds!

My friend has a Memphis Shades gradient shield. It's super nice. Fairings are starting to grow on me.

I see the convenience since I plan on taking longer trips with this bike. I kinda want something like the Gauntlet (which is basically an OEM knock-off for half the price). Quick detach mounts and I'd be good to take it off for puttin' around town. I think the kids these days call that "hooning".

ive been debating the ktm "windshield" for my 690 as well. just to get a little air off the chest on the highway but im not sure if it would just end up pushing it more towards the helmet.

From what I've researched (not much), is that even the small shields like that are helpful at higher speeds for most of the wind that pushes you back on the bike. Having a flat seat on the KTM, it may be more noticeable help at speed. I'd imagine there's just enough angle there to act like a small "bug shield" too for small road debris.
