I am in a similar set up at the moment. Come Sept. they are moving my department back into the main office so I'll end up in a cube farm.

Not looking forward to it.

 

I challenged all who worked with me to a battle for dominance. As I stood atop the heap of slain corpses, one dangling spine in my left fist, I held aloft a blood-stained Sharpie and proclaimed my independence. I also said there would be cookies in the breakroom.

So I get out of the office when I like.

Made a trip down to Laurens, SC the other day to pick up some goodies. Now I just can't wait to get them coated/painted and installed!

 

Does anyone have a tire shop in the area that they recommend? I don’t mind a bit of a drive if it’s worth it.

We have a discount tire in Gastonia, but I believe I’ve read bad things about it on here.

 

I like my DT over here by concord mills. Also have been to the one in south charlotte on tryon / 485. They do tire things well in my experience.

 

Going to be putting a bunch of parts up for sale soon, fellas. Hoping to be able to sell locally instead of having to ship a bunch of shit.

Decided to return the truck back to stock and will sell or trade it in towards the later part of this year. It was a bad financial decision when I bought it and with my long ass commute it is costing me north of $1100 a month in payment, gas, and insurance. Plus the thousands of dollars I've already dumped into it.

With the wreck the resell value has further decreased and my break even point will be sometime in December. Unless someone wants to buy the truck outright as-is for $32k today.

Tough decision, but I'd rather have something far cheaper and better mpg's or something I can pay cash for (3rd gen t4r?) for the foreseeable future.

Won't stop me from wheeling at URE for the time being though!

 

That sucks Matt but good on you making sacrifices like that. I’ll probably be selling a 3rd gen T4R around that time. Shit ton of miles but runs like a top.

Hmm, yeah I might need to take that off your hands...keep me in mind when you go to sell. Miles don't scare me as long as it has been maintained properly.

I have a list in my head with prices, that I need to put down on paper.

Some stuff will be harder to get rid of than others (gears, wheels/tires, headlights, etc).

 

Yeah I’ll give you first dibs. My wife has been driving it for two years since we decided to get on the Dave Ramsey plan and sold her Acura RDX.

 

That's half my plan. The baby put a 5 figure amount on our credit card last October, plus we have a Lexus that is about to be turned back in from a lease. Gotta get finances under control for now, and will have toys again later.

 

I’ve heard good things about the Dave Ramsey plan.

 

It’s not easy but it works. We started almost two years ago and should be debt free by September.

 

I was in rough shape financially then started listening to Dave and reading a bunch about finances. I am now completely debt free and man is it a completely freeing feeling. It's surprising what you actually need to live off of vs what keeping up with the Jones' money is. I highly recc. going through his class and reading his books and his daughter's books.

Well damn! Why would you be getting rid of the gears though? I get the decision and it's a very smart one you'll be able to get back into a tacoma in no time if you budget well. We'll wheel as much as you can until then!

 

I want some of the stuff that is 2nd gen compatible keep me in mind when you list your stuff send me a PM or text!
