Question on rear shock relocation kits: BAMF or Archive? BAMF is currently running a sale on theirs which is neat. They only show 2.0 shocks being used but I'm pretty confident 2.5s will fit. I'm not planning on going SUA so I don't need the 14" that the Archive offers. Thoughts from the masses?

I’ve held the ARCHIVE relocation towers in my hand and saw how they fit in person. It’s a very well built product and allows for more than the BAMF. They would be perfect for 2.5x12” shocks. The lower shock mounts would be much higher on the axle tube and out of the way.

Cool, they're far more expensive especially considering this sale, but I wasn't sure if there was any real benefit to the cost increase.

It’s just a more substantial piece. More steel, more bends, etc.

Cool. It also looks like fitting 2.5s on the BAMF is a little harder than I'd like, and it looks like it really prefers smoothies. Looks like Archives for me!

    Now for hangers....

    Thanks for the info!

My regular cab Gen 1 was like that until I put 35x12.5’s on it. Also, remember to air down if your not already.

What's you're valving set at - were your shocks valved for a taco? There's ways to get a smoother ride in chattery washboard. I can't tell you exactly what it is because I haven't opened that can of worms yet. @Anthony250 has the h70's.

Also get video on how your rear is running and post it. It will help others help figure out what’s going on.

I ran the bamf ones for a few years and was very happy. Super solid product and I know I would recommend them. I used them for 2.0's at the time but I know others have made 2.5's work by botching the top plate out to clear them. May even be able to get him to do it for you if you ask nicely. They're going to perform no different than the archives with a 12" shock, so if there's a sale, I'd lean that way

Hmm, that makes things tricky... Do you think that they would fit 2.5s with bypasses without a hassle?

Not yet, but I will be soon-ish after bending one of mine a little out in Moab. They hang so dang low I was dragging them everywhere in the rocks. Gonna finish my frame playing and just redo my cross brace at the same time so I don't really know how I'm going to do it, by probably something like your pic with supports at the bends that go out to the plated frame

I might send them an email and see how well it works with 2.5s/bypasses. If that's the case I may go with that.

Bypasses I would guess not, but it would be worth giving them a call or email to express both your concerns about that and the 2.5's.

I am not necessarily the best resource for that, but I think so. I know the Archive relocation bracket recommends 14" for SUA but I think you can run either without any issues.

Awesome man, glad it worked well. Can you link me that forum page? I'll check if those 2.5s work well.

I don't believe this is accurate, the Archive relocation towers bolt to the bed at the top and allow installation of a cross brace. Without this, it doesn't matter how strong the tower is, the crossmember in the frame is weak and allows the frame rails to rotate. Allowing movement might inhibit the shocks from doing their job, and contribute to a chattering or twitching feeling in the truck.

@BEAR_KNIFE_FIGHT The Archive kit comes welded up, ready to install, and gives you more options including some bypass fitment. You get what you pay for. Compared to Total Choas kit at $695, that fits 10" bypass and has a small contact with the frame rails, the Archive kit delivers.

Also, if there is question about the strength of formed sheet metal, the Archive relocation towers are able to deal with plenty of side load without deflecting

Cool man, solid info. By cross-brace do you mean at the top of the towers in the bed, or at the bottom where the frame is? I'm not likely to cut holes in my bed for a cross-brace to try to keep the bed sealed a bit.

I'm still trying to get a good plan for what I'm going to do regarding shocks -- 2.0/2.5, clickers, bypasses, etc.

Thanks for the pictures and info!

At the top of the towers, 2 bolt holes in the bed each side

Wasn't trying to discredit your product, but to give my experience and input with the competitors. Had your product been available when I chose the competitors a few years ago, I would have had a much tougher time deciding. That being said, I think you make a great product that is certainly more versatile for different applications than the bamf relocation. But, I can attest to the bamf kit being able to take a beating without failure as I frequently abused my truck for the 3 years I had it. So if @BEAR_KNIFE_FIGHT or @jeff b does not necessarily need what yours at over 3x the cost offers over bamf, then he has no need to worry about the quality of it.

    Jumping with bamf kit
