I've been wanting to be a Tacoma owner for quite sometime now. I just purchased a 2000 SR5 with about 151K miles. Looking forward to:

    1. Remove the bed off and completely strip all the paint off of the frame and components as well as brushing off all rust. Then cleaning, treating, prepping, and painting it with POR-15.
    2. Upgrade Radio.
    3. Basic tune-up and engine cleaning.
    4. Retrofit headlights (maybe next year).
    5. Replace shitty AEM CAI system... It's open, no heat shield, and the sound drives me nuts (I know it's losing power). Unfortunately, originals are hard to find (complete), but maybe I will settle for the Volant CAI system... it is in a closed box setup.

Take a break... I took a contracting job working overseas.... Save some money, return next summer for vacation and

    6. Do bumper upgrade
    7. Tundra front brake upgrade

Back to work overseas, save some more money ...and

    8. Line-X the entire truck!:D

I think the truck is in pretty good shape and I think it may have a lift already...Not too familiar with these trucks, I'm still learning. I had a really hard time looking for a Tacoma, 4x4, manual, with very minimal rust at a decent price. Up here, in the north east, it's hard finding a truck that it is not rotting in rust at a good price..... The road salting during the winter it's extremely out of control. In the DC area, if it snows like 1" of snow... they throw like 5 tons of salt on the roads..SMH.

I was working on that list months before I purchased it! The only thing I had to add to the list was the CAI replacement.
