About 3 years ago, I purchased and installed a 250A alternator from CAE in Van Nuys, CA. Well, today I removed it and re-installed my OEM 140A alternator, because I was having problems with the 250A this past weekend. Basically, the battery light turned on and then fluctuated while I was out in the desert. I also observed via my ScanGuage that the voltage level of the primary battery was jumping around from as high as 13.7v to as low as 11.2v. This was looking like a voltage regulator failure. Bummer because I planned on camping out Sunday night, but I didn't want to take the risk being in the middle of nowhere with this problem.

Anyway, with the old one back in, things look good so far. I think I'll take the 250A alternator back to CAE and see if I can swap it out for another one or if they can sell me a new voltage regulator.

Just had my 2015’s dash Nav unit replaced under warranty. Lucky as it ends in just under 2 months. Toyota mentioned that this seems to be an apparent issue with this units as I was the second person in that day for a full replacement. The unit would just go into a freeze screen when plugged in via usb as well as fully restart the head unit once and a while. Interested to see if anyone else has had this issue or if they’ve heard from there dealer that this is an apparent problem

It's the CFX-40. After seeing the size in person I knew it was perfect. Actual storage space is 40 quarts vs the 45 quarts I'm used to in my cooler, but since I won't have ice it should be a wash.

All off the main battery. I have an Optima 31M deep cycle battery which is more than up to the task. Eventually I'll add a solar panel since they're fairly inexpensive, and I can just leave the fridge on all the time. For now I'll only turn it on when I need it.
