    Good eye. Made for a perfect fit in the rod end. All of the 6mm bolts that I had, the shoulders were narrower than the threads. Nobody likes a sloppy fit.

    Possibly could. Don't know if that would cause more deflection or not, due to less surface area. Worth a quick try though.

    Still thinking about that smooth as butter drop from 2nd to 3rd at about 5K RPM.

    Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, quite compares to that trans mated to the 4.3

    I wish the FRS was 1/2 of what that’s like. ;)

    However smoothly this linkage moved, due to the location of the rod end, it allowed the internal gate to open with little resistance. No amount of preload would hold it shut. Back to the drawing board two more times.

    This latest iteration has shown success as of my most recent test drive.

    With the turbo out, it was a good time to wrap the down-pipe as well.

    Don't have one or I would. Works the "best" so far. Peaks to 7psi then falls back to 4psi. Not satisfied with that performance though, as I know it should be a lot better.

    Boost response isn't as quick as with the solid linkage either, so I know the gate opens some before it should. Without exhaust modification to alter the turbo's location, so the Internal wastegate can fit in its intended location, I don't see this working properly, if a little additional preload doesn't solve it.

    The other option is to swap the other turbine housing back on and make a routing for the external wastegate.

    Not even secret. Just dont have any other pictures currently. Won't be able to take any until tomorrow afternoon either, unfortunately.

    This is much closer to my original design. Minus the coupling in the expanse. It worked great to build boost. Once passing the threshold though, it would then wedge in the open. Thus these attempts.

    So this is what I was trying to recommend to begin with using a rod end as a guide to prevent actuator rod deflection. You could use 1/8 x 1" stainless bar stock for the middle portion of your actuator rod for strength and use the same material for your guide. You would drill a hole in one end and bolt it to the turbine bolt, weld your rod end to the other side, then slide your actuator rod through the rod end.
    Make sure your linkage at the waste gate is in proper orientation.

    Thoughts?

    To add some details, the rod coming out of the wastegate is roughly 7mm. Then was turned down and threaded to have a 6mm threaded portion(originally. Now welded to the rod end) The triangulated rods are 1/8" or 3/16" SS. I believe. Cannot remember.

    Whatever they are, they need to be larger diameter. As without the angled brace, the straight down leg deflects. So it needs to be a 1/4" - 7mm for the necessary strength.

    Just made it home a few minutes ago. Added one turn of preload to the nut. When pulling the vacuum hose off of the top of the wastegate, it slid off with the lightest resistance. One finger could easily slide it off. The stout firmness of the hose was basically holding it on.

    Actuator worked properly. Zip-tie to the rescue. Just forgot about it before. I'll test it in the morning. If it holds at 7psi, instead of peaking then dropping, when I get home I will back off of the nut one full turn. See if it holds again. Need to upgrade that to a -4AN barbed bango fitting.
