Yeah old cars are just better.

My dream build is a 85 hilux with 1tons, 40s. Sua, crazy gears like 7.16 and a small little 4 banger that will just chug away all day.

I rather be under engine over axel in a rock crawler

The "not less than 22" part is what got this truck impounded in the Federal Republik of Kalifornistan many years ago.

I was pretty releaved, saved myself a nice chunck of change also.

Mine had all the symptoms, but from different sources. Only symptom I didn’t have was play in the bearing/hub. I was pretty sure the howl was my tires, but with the grinding/noise I was getting had me conviced it was the bearings.

I’d take off the wheel and spin them then go from there. I never did that and probably would have seen the caliper making contact and would have made freeway commute much less stressful haha.

Which is why I called the dealership, I felt it slow at one point but the PO also told me he did the rear brakes before I bought it so the shoes could just not be adjusted properly. I was hoping they could just look it over and tell me everything they would suggest doing then I'd choose what I do myself and what I pay them to do

Yeah I checked them all last rotation and only one side seemed to have me worried. No major grinding but the howling could easily be from wearing Discoverer AT3s. They have to have at least 35-40k on them

Did it grind at all? If it's not making any noise but it's not spinning freely I wonder if it's something else....every vid I've seen of a bad bearing it grinds like hell. Maybe something with the brakes, I dunno

Not a grind really more of a pad sliding along a warped rotor sound but in the rear, you can't notice it while driving. Only when the wheel is off the ground and you spin it

Is it the front or rear wheels. Sometimes the calipers get stuck and the pads don’t fully release and it grinds. Happened to me and I just greased the pins and it stoped.

Well the rear brakes are supposed to drag the tiniest bit so that can account for that noise.

I’d take your rotor off and get down to just the hub and spin that. If it’s still doing it then my guess would be it’s on its way out.

Edit: Saw it was the rear one, nvm

Hit your starter with a block of wood or a mallet. Probably going out. Could be a dead cell in the batt too, that would show full voltage but not have enough amperage (plus I've seen your battery haha)

    12.2-12.4 is perfect BTW

What do your guys truck read on start up. Mine will sit at 14.3 for awhile and drop down to 13.8 after awhile and just stay there

Yeah I had that happen on my Cobra but this is on the rear.

Well that makes me feel better.

I just called the dealer again and they told me $66.94 for diagnosis which would end up being included in the $996.46 to replace both the rear bearings if they determined they were bad. To do the fronts they charge $1,194. I can likely do my own fronts, when the time comes, as it seems a bit less technical overall, correct me if I'm wrong.

Demand has lowered as your battery has been topped up. Depends on the car how it does this though. My truck with its 2 wire Jaguar alternator will hit 14.8 on startup and hang out around 14.4 once everything is warmed up and topped up. Cruiser starts at 13.8, hits 14.4 when you start driving for the first time after startup and will hold there. It is designed to idle super smooth (except right now :() so it reduces ALT and steering pump drag at idle.

Depends, is the clicking like soft quieter relay clicking or like solenoid bendix on the starter (cachunk) clicking? If the bendix isn't engaging it could need a rebuild or maybe the starter fuse or relay are bad. Your battery also looks like a toxic waste spill so never rule that out.
