    I added a lift because I was scraping my IFS skid on a road to a very secluded hunting spot. I had to try the tires and lift out. There is a local group that wheels a lot here, and the truck performed just as well as their jeeps on 35's. I was very impressed, but once on the trail I realized I bit off more than I could chew. It all worked out, but without some armor I am hesitant to get into anything more than that. @M192 showed me some good lines and took care of me out there.

    Long story short, the bug has bitten at the wrong time. I have a 2 year old and a 10 month old. The build will be slow, but will happen.

    So I'M gonna answer your question.
    With the front bumper, winch, sliders, IFS skid, transfer skid, transmission skid, gas tank skid and rear diff skid all steel the truck went to 12 to 12.2 mpg. Going up the mountain by rausch creek I had to use 4th and 5th gear to get up. The tires are e rated 11ply 285-17. Now with the new gears it's a night and day difference. I can take the mountain in 6th all the way up. It's not wanting me to downshift. It's a real pleasure to drive now. And now on my second tank I'm getting to 17.3 now.

    The gearing in the differentials has no effect on the speedometer.

    Well yeah, we’re talking about our trucks. And apparently it’s only wheel speed sensors on an auto. On the 6 speed it’s on the t case output.

    You’ve got it flipped. Auto is the wheel sensors and manual is the t case output. Either way the diff gearing won’t affect it.

    If the speed sensor is on the t-case output, then gearing WILL effect the speedo reading, as it is reading the rpm of the driveshaft instead of the wheel revolutions like the wheel speed sensors do.

    Yeah I was just thinking that over in my head and was starting to second guess that part. I’ll have to do more reading. Also that was on a second gen so not sure if it changed to third gen. Best way to tell would be a gps speedometer app
