The FSM should have a how-to on what to check with the coils. I haven't test mine yet but I'm damn sure I'm seeing a hint of long starts.

is it only doing it after the engine has heat soaked? I have heard that coils can have a problem with this... I'm still thinking injectors but coils would be 100x easier to replace if they are bad. I will check resistance tonight. Not sure how I'll be able to check after they're heat soaked though. Heat up in the oven perhaps?

Yeah.. the thing that really makes me think it's the injectors tho is that I didn't have this problem until AFTER they did the BG44k flush on the fuel rail. Pretty much was shooting the cleaner straight through the injectors while the engine was idling (the engine was shaking all over for a solid 15 minutes). I saw it on my dashcam.

I don't think they were suppose to do that, just dump it in the fuel tank.

If you want to follow your intuition do so. Best get start rather then wait til later when you're stuck some where and the got wolves...bears...mountain lions...

Not enough to have a build thread.
Some of the bg fuel system services are put in a pressurized canister than the engine runs off until it stalls. I'm not a fan of almost any bg product.

they never let it stall but it was definitely vibrating a lot... same as seafoam but for longer, and put straight through the injectors rather than through vacuum line.

Need to research if BG has messed up people's injectors

Yeah I've seen those system but I'm damn sure bg44 doesn't tell you to directly inject them to the injectors with a canister

there is a BG induction service that the shop does.. I thougght it would fix my pinging problem, thinking it would clear up the injectors. It obviously cleared them up too much.

There apparently is a warranty on work if BG is used, note: What is covered? Engine components listed above. Fuel: oxygen sensors, PCV, MAF sensor (only if BG 407 is used), injectors (deposit-related malfunctions only)

    http://www.healeybrothers.com/content/images/Lifetime BG Protection Plan® Certificate _ BG Products, Inc_.pdf

Oh nevermind, it only applies to vehicles under 100k and done every 15k forward. Guess I'll be changing the injectors myself.

Not sure I can afford that much downtime. I probably could, but would be annoying having to remove them, wait a week to ship, a week or more to find out if bad, then wait an additional week for new injectors. Truck would be down for almost a month at that point

    Wait wait wait.
You took your truck to a shop, they fucked around with your injectors, and now you have hot start issues (which are commonly linked to leaking injectors)?
Take that shit back to them and tell them to make it right!
If whatever they used damaged the seals in the injectors, they will definitely start leaking. They should replace those on their dime.

I guess I can try, but I will insist they use OEM or the ones SpeedyTech linked.. I would have to drop my truck off for them to diagnose to verify the injectors are leaking. There's a high possibility they either tell me to pound sand or that they don't find any problem (bullshit). I have documented videos of the hot starting issue and have been collecting videos each time I start the truck. The shop supposedly carries a 3year/36k warranty on the work. I suppose they could file a warranty claim on the residual screwup and they would still get paid and might not be so opposed to just changing the injectors. But who knows.

Thanks. This will save me a lot of money if the shop doesn't fix it.

My 3.4 did the same thing. Cold starts it started immediately but hot starts it took a bit longer to start. Never bothered me, and never let me down

If they tell you to pound sand, threaten to call BAR. Normally just a threat will get them to give in.

The bureau of automotive repair. If you think your being taken by a shop, give them a call and they'll investigate what's going on. It's a government agency that makes sure shops do fair business.

Thanks. I will continue to document long starts and take it back to them once I'm gathered enough evidence.
