:rofl:If you ever have an idea of something, I can always try to do it for you. I'm pretty quick and can usually do it myself within a few minutes. If its hard I always send it to @sxe4533 but that rarely happens! haha

Hopefully, you won't have to change them out for a while. I changed my husband's center cap inlay the other day after months of being on and they were pretty hard to get off. I had to use my weeder tool to get them lifted enough to pull, but they came off easy and clean after that, no residue or leftover vinyl. I just wiped the area with alcohol and replaced.

These look fantastic! Going to place my order today!
@SimplyMuggle would you say you sell more gloss or matte inlays? I can't seem to find pics of the matte but that was my first gut feel..now I'm thinking gloss though as it seems to be more popular!
    Thanks!

To be honest, I sell slightly more glossy than matte black but I personally like the matte. I think the glossy became "standard" since its what my husband first used when he tested them on his truck. I've seen both blacks side by side and there isn't much of a difference unless you are up close.

Of course its personal preference, but if matte is your gut instinct, go for it!

I'm currently swapping out my husband's glossy black for matte black! He is actually letting me do it myself. I will be back shortly with a picture of matte black wheels.

Since the water method appears to be the most foolproof way to apply the decals, I will no longer send out decals with transfer tape-with the exception of center cap inlays. If you still want a few with transfer tape you can always request it. In place of the transfer tape, I will add a couple more decals to each order making the total 30 decals-you only need 24, so this leaves enough for an entire wheel of mess-ups/backup decals.

I finally tried the water method myself and found it to be extremely EASY! I will add a few photos to show how I evenly lined up the decals on the bottom corners before moving on to the upper corners. I used a squeegee -which can be found for roughly $2- to follow directly behind the area that I just placed on the wheel. I had a few small bubbles when using my fingers to press, but zero bubbles after grabbing my squeegee to do the remaining decals. * You can also carefully use any plastic card, like a Chuck E Cheese play card, with caution.

I also used the corner of my squeegee to make sure the wing part of the decal properly adhered to the curved part of the wheel with no bubbles before smoothing over the very top.

The pictures are kinda bad since I took them myself, but hopefully they can help someone out! :fingerscrossed:

Can you provide more details on the water method please?

    Sure!

I call it the water method, but it's actually the wet method if you see it talked about elsewhere!
    • First, clean your hands and the application area with rubbing alcohol/isopropyl alcohol.
    • Then, take a small, clean spray bottle- you can buy these in the travel beauty section for like a dollar. I actually use my daughter's American Girl spray bottle from the hair kit. If you are like my husband, just ask your wife for one.
    • Very lightly spray water on the sticky side of the decal AND on the cleaned, application surface.
    • Slowly place the decal on the application area, I typically like to line up the bottom corners, making sure they are all covered before slowly moving one side up at a time following behind with a squeegee to make sure all of the water/bubbles get out from under the decal. You can then wipe off excess water after you are done.
    • Most importantly, make sure you run over every edge so that the vinyl is fully adhered to your wheel on every corner, angle, side...etc...
The nice thing about the water/wet method is that you can easily - but carefully- take it off and reposition it without stretching the vinyl. Once you do about one or two of them, you will be sticking them on like a pro! Trust me! :) We always provide extras in every order so you will have a few to play with before you get the hang of it.

Thanks. I'll give that a shot when I get home. One more question, what is the approximate drying/cure time with the water method?

It should be all set and ready to go once you have it on your wheel! I have noticed that with Oracal 651, it's much easier to remove RIGHT after you place the decal and that tends to be scary at first-especially when you don't know much about vinyl. With that said, I wouldn't go do anything crazy right after- like go mudding or power wash your truck! But, just to be safe, I always wait a few days before washing anything I put vinyl on! But that could just be me being extra cautious.

I've also seen some people use a drop baby wash or dish soap in their water mix, you can watch videos on it to get a better idea of the process. I personally don't like adding anything extra to my spray bottle since I don't need it. The way I do it, just making sure the corners are on good is really your last step in the process.

    When is the next sale?

Any plans to expand your offering to other decals like the tailgate trd stickers in black?

We do offer the tailgate letter inserts/decals. There is a section on the Etsy page called "Tacoma Decals" and they are under that. If you want something custom made, you can always private message me and I can try to do it for you.

Try TACOMAWORLD10 for 10% off all orders and TACOMAWORLD15 for 15% the wheel vinyl and inlay combo.
