Hey Gents, so I’m transplanting from the 2nd Gen side of things. I recently purchased a 2017 TRD Offroad. I pulled my nearly new suspension off of my 2015 before trading it in. Fox 2.5 rr. Coilovers set at 2.3/4” lift per 2015 standards. I did all the stuff need to clear 285/75r 16. My question is what do I need to do to my 3rd gen to make sure those tires clear? Thanks for the help

I spoke to Fox and total chaos and made sure everything would fit. It will.

For one, you're not going to get the same lift on a third gen as you did your 2nd gen with the same settings, usually it's about an inch lower on the 3rd gens. And with about a 3 inch lift you can clear a 33" tire for the most part. You'll probably have to do some trimming and possibly a cmc if you do go offroading

Ok? Hmm. I’ll have to figure that out. Fox uses the same part# for the coilover. Maybe they use a different spring rate. I have the cmc plates already I figured I’d have to do that I wasn’t sure if it was necessary on the 3rd gen. Cool. Thank you for your input. I’m going with 17 ray 10s and probably 275/70 17.

I’m installing 275/70/17 tomorrow on my SCS SR8s. Doing it with stock suspension until my lift ships. I’ll find out if they tuck or not. I’m curious anyways. If they rub too much I’ll throw the stockies on for a little while longer. I’m sick of waiting. Lol plus I’m not super thrilled about cutting my truck. I’m just hoping they are not too harsh. I’ll let you guys know tomorrow.

I wouldn’t think they’d be to bad. I ran 275/70/16 for a while on stock, no issues. But that extra inch could be an issue.

Ya I guess it just depends on the rim too. -10 offset with a 4” back spacing I believe. I think it’s going to push the tire out a little not exactly sure how it’s going to turn out. We shall see lol. I’ve read on here people ran that tire stock, but either way just temporary for a few more weeks. Once I found out the kings are back ordered I said alright F this then I’m throwing on the rims and tires.

Yeah I ran 275/70/16s on method rims 4.5 backspacing, 0 offset. I think you’ll be fine on road, off-road will be different though lol. And yeah I waited quite some time to get my Kings but they are worth it!

I actually decided on these exact wheels and I’m planning on the same size tire. I’m debating on Toyo mt, Toyo rt, or going back to BFG km2s again. I’m curious to know how it works out. Please keep me posted
