Donations are gladly accepted, new wheels and tires are going to be purchased in late September. All jokes aside I cant wait to play with all the electronics in the dirt, but there is some concerns with clearance n the exhaust set up. I got a better look at it when I was under there taking the steps off, it hangs slightly below the crossmember where it comes over to meet at the y...dont know why toyota did that...if they extended it 6” it could be safely tucked up there with no clearance issues. Is yours the same? I guess skids are built to accomadate that?

All of the 4.0s are like that. That’s what the exhaust re-route does. I still need to have mine done. Hha.

Mine needs to be relocated. That must have changed in the 5th gen. Dude had to have been hauling ass. The people I learned to wheel with said always engage your 4wd, you never know and your truck won't survive a large rock, or tree. Shane can still engage his locker and do burn outs in 4hi lol

Dude don't think to much on it, it can happen to anyone, at least your safe and sound! A tree can kill you. You will get another rig, and lesson is learned

    Thanks man!

@Prayn4surf i need to do the exhaust re-route as well. There are skids that you don’t need to re-route with, but there’s a bulge hanging down. I’d rather re-route so it’s flat.

I’ve heard pricing from $150-300, so it varies depending where you take it.

@MMoreno16 bummer about how that happened man :(
I usually am in 2wd on dirt roads, idk if your ABS played a role in it, but I know the ABS kill switch mod is one on my to do list.
Regardless, glad you all are OK and the next truck will have mods at the ready!

Yeah loosing clearance and having a bulge to hang up on sounds like a bad route to take. That's not as bad as I thought. I will do this in the future, but good to know. I will also chop my exhaust eventually in the rear as it is dying to catch a rock. Thats why no rocks @dtaco06 lol

I have two bulges that can get hung up on things and only one is on the truck...:spy:

So for the exhaust reroute you just take it to the shop and tell them you want to reroute it? The 4 banger didn’t have this problem

Uhhhh were you not with us over the weekend? Haha I’d say I stepped up my game.

As dumb as it is, it’s nice not having a bunch of lights on my dash. Besides, I can make a switch to flip the nannies on and off as I please.

Exactly! Thats the plan...im not doing anything to the 5th gen but some wheels n tires n derp. Will play with it on easier stuff, but 35”s are the plan.
Now that I have a daily cutting it is gonna happen, maybe when My mtr’s need replacing. Its always been the plan, just wasnt in the budget at the time.
not gonna say I havent thought about this. Will have to put the taco on a scale and see how gordo she is.

I got used to it on my old truck, want to do things better this go around which means wiring it up the right way

Extend the brake sensor wiring? Not a bad idea!
