It’s probably about $1k in material maybe 2 depending on the stones and pavers used. But they’re going to get you on prep/labor for sure, I think nate is pretty close to what it would be.

But a lot of that you can do yourself just slowly and take your time, those walls are just stacked cinder blocks that your cement in place, then wrapped in a stone vaneer.

Wife only orders well vodka and soda water at the bars then has mio in her purse. I walk out with a $40 in beer and $15 in vodka shots on my tab. She’s beat the system.

Do you have gas already at your house or would the fire pit be off propane. Running the gas lines might cost you some $$$ but like others have said you can do a lot of the work yourself. 10-12K but do your research if/when you get somebody to do the work. I would not recommend the company I had do both my front and back as the original planned looked great but the completed project was not what I saw on paper. Ended up getting $2k taken off bill but still pissed me off.

propane would be fine, or even just actual wood and I could clean out the ashes...who did your yard so I know not to waste my time? still in the planning stages, but I saw this and I liked it.

You might be in the $7k-$10k range. You can get a really good looking final product even if you use not so expensive materials, but at the end of the day labor and permits will drive the cost.
It also depends on what your yard looks like to start with, and how much prep will be required

If you are in the design phase think about adding concrete bench seating against that stone, you will save on the veneer and give yourself seating around the fire pit that will last threw the seasons unlike cushions on chairs and so on.

I like both of those, and I see what you're talking about with the concrete. my yard work experience goes as far as a little sprinkler work, general yard maintenance and clean up.

that one with the step down is cool, but I don't want them to ruin my yard that's already in place getting a dozer back there to dig it.

^This. I would also recommend running standard and low voltage power, speakers, and building in some shade base supports. Those are the areas my past clients always wished they added when their backyards were done
If you do the prep work yourself call for blue stake first. And make sure you bury your electrical run at least 18” below grade.

MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
That backyard will be 8500 if you use propane, 10k if they’re running a line.

    7500/8500 if Juan does it.

    2-4 if you do it.

Sadly no. I used to design residential and recreational areas (backyards, swimming pools, bbq’s, fireplaces, and shade structures). Still help out with designs for friends every once in a while

    :wave:hi friend. haha.

so let me ask you this, how big should something like this be? My back yard is 45x45. I would like something like this be a main feature but don't want the yard to all of a sudden feel cramped, but I also don't want to build this thing so small that IT feels cramped. House is 1300sq foot if your wanting size of it for congruency or whatever.

I would love to do it myself, but want to learn in someone else yard and wallet. I am confident in my eye for detail, however the first time you do something, you learn a lot of what not to do... ya know?

Can you sketch out the current layout of your backyard? The shape will give you direction on the best place for your main feature. Do you have kids, or plan on having kids (or pets)? If yes, you’ll want to factor in an area for that. Also, I would recommend having your feature/entertainment area at least 10ft from your house if possible. This will help accommodate any family/guests relaxing inside from what’s going on in the backyard

I have a dog, she is a 70 pound boxer but is 5 now and slowing down a lot. no kids. I can do that when I get home in the morning, right now its just gravel with a tree, and some little bushes spread around. perfect square. I can get more exact details in the morning.:thumbsup:oh the house faces north with the yard on the south side of the house. I have been thinking about adding another tree in the backyard for shade on the south wall of the house because the master is back there and happens to be the warmest room in the house.
