Could've used him last week when my coil froze and the fan blew water into handler box which was outside the drip pan area and leaked into my ceiling. Turned out the freon was 2# low so it got topped off but Sweatman's doesn't seem to want to call me back to replace the ducting wrap and elevate that end of the air handler so that shit doesn't happen again.

Your cousin's company does duct work I'm sure? Would like that ducting that got wet changed out and that box elevated a bit if that's something they can do. Just not sure if it's something I want to do out of pocket now (depending on price quote) or wait another two weeks until the home warranty waiting period is over and have them do it for the $75 deductible.

 

Going up for sale as soon as I get the last of my stuff out, clean it up, and throw down some pine straw for curb appeal.

I bet you could get a pretty penny out of renting it, but then you have to be a landlord or get a property management company to take care of it. Looks like rentals around HH are premium.

 

The folks I rented the lake house from certainly weren't hurting for money. They got a nice sized chunk of my paycheck every month and they have a bunch more houses around Greenville.

If it was actually out on the island, I'd agree. It's closer to the 95 by a long shot than it is to the beach. It is close to the water...but the ICW.

It was the lady's father's house, but when he got too old to take care of himself he moved in with them. House is paid for.

We tried to buy it from them but that thing is a cash cow for them. They didn't even wanna hear an offer.

 

The money in renting houses is IF you can pay cash for the property, then rent it out. Otherwise its just more debt on your books.

I have friends that lost their primary mortgaged residence during the big housing boom out west when rent prices plumeted due to massive over supply.

 

I can tell you this. A lot of those horses are bought not more then 30 mins from where I grew up. The Amish literally work em to death. I don’t care how many carriage rides they do, they will never be treated as bad as the Amish treat them. I bet those horses feel like they are on vacation down here compared to being used in a field for 16-18 hours a day.
